if you think that this horse and rider is in harmony, your dead wrong. this horse is obviously in rollkur position and is in many cases in ldr position as well. even though he has a good moving back end, he still is being shown in the worse way possibly... rollkur and ldr. he is a big mover..but just looking at his mouth... it makes me sad.. he is contanstly opening and closing it... in pain is what that means. ears sometimes pinned back.. tight at the poll... he also has nothing but unnatural gaits... i dont see perfection with this.. i see cruelty.

Mart Isidoro thank you for agreeing. so little people seeing him as a bad rider...many believe in his methods..and he should be banned. totilas was a great horse..he just had the wrong riders. as a 4 year old..he has beautiful gates..edward..and all of his other riders ruined him in less than 4 years. The front feet should never lift that high..its unnaturalll.. many believe he was even sored, which many believe unlikely as he isn't a tenesee walking horse or gaited breed. He always enters the arena covered in sweat from a overworked warm up. He has been in the warm up arena for 2 hours before a test working a horse... I've never liked watching edward..ive only seen one of his rides not involving rollkur or LDR or a tight and tense horse. Only once, and theirs many videos about him. He has been discover riding Toto Jr. in rollkur and LDR through a 30 minute session. and even During a test!!! THIS SHOULDNT BE ALLOWED! IF HE WAS IN THE US..HE WOULDN'T BE ALLOWED TO RIDE LILE HE DOES. HE WOULD BE BANNED FROM HIS FIRST COMPETITOON HERE IN THE US!!! Im truly sorry for the horses he owns and riides...I hope they can find a better home..and that edward gets punished for his cruel methods...

Sadly Edward was the reason Totilas only performed when Rath rode him in rollkur during the warmup.

If you rewatch the Secratariat videos, check out Sham. He was right behind Secratariat in the derby, and the Preakness but when they got to the last race and he couldn’t catch him, his heart broke and he finished last. Any other year Sham would’ve been a triple crown winner. Sham and I will always be buddies!

Ja. Schön verworfen im Genick und herrlich ungleich abfußende Beine. Wunderbar auch die hinterherschlappende Hinterhand. Vom herrlich eng gezurrten Kehlgang ganz zu schweigen. Und wie wunderbar es diesem Reiter gelingt, das nervös knabbernde Maul herauszuarbeiten. Eine geschlossene Grußaufstellung ist auf internationalem GP-Niveau vollkommen überflüssig geworden, das müssen nur die Idioten auf ländlichem E-bis-L-Niveau zeigen.

Mathilde Wesendonck Ich gehöre keineswegs zu denjenigen, die diesbezüglich übermäßig pienzig sind, ehrlich. Gleichwohl finde ich (und nicht nur ich) die übermäßig aufgegrellten Bewegungsabläufe dem Dressursport abträglich. Der "Sündenfall" war m. E. Matinée. Auch ich war damals noch naiv genug zu glauben, dass die Stute ihren absolut spektakulären Bewegungsablauf lediglich aufgrund hervorragenden Materials zeigte. Stutzig musste man werden, als die Pferde einer bestimmten "Ausbildungsschule" auf einmal alle im Versammelten Trab die Lichter austraten, dafür aber in der Verstärkung kaum mehr als ein durchschnittliches Pferd überfußten.

Er war der BESTE bis er kaputtgemacht wurde. Die Menschen vergessen immer das ein Tier auch eine Seele hat und geliebt und verstanden werden möchte. Solange ein Tier nur eine "Sache" ist wird sich auch nie etwas ändern.

agreed, I know his partner (miss Werner and the stables Edward trains) the horse was special in exterior but also in his stamina and acceptance of Gal; of course he was worked hard and sometimes too hard, but Gal adores his horses and never abuses them, including Totilas. If a horse is completely broken it's impossible to reach this level.

I strongly disagree..... Its not always infront of a camera where they use rollkur and you can see that there are some moments where he still does it to his horse.... As much as they look like the perfect pair, they are certainly not. And i might be wrong but for me, the gates don't look that natural, again i might be wrong
