I thought I would like 2018 more, because of more modern and stylish look, but it's surprising that I still love 1988 more XD I'm sure it's because 1988 started the whole Holiday Barbie history, and dress fabric quality is a lot nicer too

I have Eden Starling and she has a special place in my heart 💙 And she had a big velvet gown! She has such a beautiful and unique face though! And so does Teresa... And Nikki! I saw the holiday barbie at Toys R Us yesterday she is priced almost 80$!! She looks like the cheap dolls from china you see for 5$ she is hideous in my opinion and looks cheap as hell... Mattel has starting to shame their fabulous legacy of doll making and design. Although i have to say this particular 1988 Barbie is not the greatest either what is up with the middle part of the dress?..But she’s still way better than the 2018 one. The mid 90’s ones were amazing! Great review as always!

Growing up in the 80's, I LOVE those Barbie's best. Big hair, big dresses, big makeup...it was all just so wonderful. Lol. So I vote for 88 Barbie, though I agree 2018's jewelry is way better. But I still want them both. Lol.

Ah man, I remember one year in high school for my shop class I had to do a holiday sketch and I did 1988 holiday barbie cause I definitely loved her most (plus, she was a bit easier to draw out for me LMAO) so it's a bit easy for me to say I prefer the 1988 in this case.

Yeah, unfortunately the Holiday barbies didn’t gain much value as the years went on. You can find all of them on eBay for almost nothing. That’s because the minute you market something as “collectible”, EVERYONE runs and buys them, so they’re not exactly rare anymore. It may actually be almost 100 years before the holiday barbies are worth what they were expected to be worth by now. 😕

Maybe because I'm old, I prefer the 88 version. I remember when she came out and I saw her in a shop while we were doing the Christmas shopping. My jaw litteraly dropped for ever 😂. We were quite a broke family, so I didn't have it. She was outstanding. I remember that even my dad, who didn't care about Barbie dolls, was impressed by this one. She's the special one, the very first one.

I finally completed my Holiday Barbie collection just a couple months ago by purchasing the 1988. Can't say which one I like best but as far as quality goes I prefer the 1988 doll. Of course, being a child of the 80s I love the bendable knees so much better than the rigid plastic they use today.

I've never been a huge fan of the Happy Holidays Barbie dolls. That said, I did purchase a few of them in the early 90s. The only one I still have is the 1989 doll in the white fur-trimmed gown. I think that was the prettiest one they ever produced. I have thought about picking up some of the 90s dolls to redress in other fashions. I just don't love the giant ball gowns in loads of cheap nylon. But the dolls themselves are often quite lovely.

I adore the barbies 90s and 80s mold I wish they could still make it and the older ones are much better quality lots of the ones today are cheap

Your adorable ❤❤❤ you know 10 years ago they released Barbie in A Christmas carol and I found out at the time they made a doll of her in her beautiful snowflake dress that she wears at the start of the movie. little did I know that it was the holiday Barbie for that year 2008 and I sent my mother to try and get me one and since it's hard to get those kind of dolls here I couldn't get one 10 years later she finally got it and it's sitting under the tree waiting for me to unwrap on Christmas day and I could not be happier I don't know what it is about that. In particular I'm not really a doll collector but I just had to have this , great video my lovely hope you have a merry Christmas

I was born in 1988 but I should love the doll but for me it's somewhat of a split. I like the modern Barbies face and how she looks a little more real then the 1980s Barbie however I wish the detail from the dress would be on the modern Barbie.

I just can't stand the asymmetry of the 2018 Barbie. To me, Barbie is for play, and when she has no articulation and is frozen in one pose, what fun is she? What can the 2018 Barbie do but stand there (thanks to the stand) looking pretty? The more modern makeup and hair looks great and all, but I feel like the point is lost with the 2018 Barbie.

i'd always pick the older Barbie doll over the newer ones but somehow i'm not feeling the look on this one. The dress, Necklace and Hair piece just looks cheap and mismade... I do like the new one's outfit!
