Ty for this video. I love how you explained the ingredients & how they work in both stylers. I used the Curlsmith oil in cream tonite because my hair has been so dry & brittle since my last color. I watered it down because my hair is fine. It feels good now. I guess I will see how it works in the morning when I style. I will be using the Curlsmith Hydro gel. I really appreciate this video. I have been looking for someone who will be or who has reviewed all of their products or at least most of them. I will go see what else you have on Curl Smith. I don’t want to buy the wrong products if I can help it.

I find that the in shower fixer leaves my hair feeling a little producty. I do, however tend to use it more in the summer because it’s a quick wash and go type of styling product.

I totally agree with you. I really like their gels. And the scalp line across the board. The scrub shampoo is the only shampoo in the entire line that I like. I don’t care for the moisture line except for the gels. Their cremes? Not crazy about them. The 3-in1 is great and I don’t put it on my roots, ever. Try the Controlled Chaos line, it’s awesome, except you need a gel with the Creme (it’s great though).

I wish I had watched this video before I purchased! I'd never tried Curlsmith before and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about because their products are so hyped on KZfaq. I tried the Hydro Style Flexi Jelly and Full Body Thickening Lotion. The lotion was pretty good. The gel made my hair feel really product-y and I just see a lot of potential for buildup on my fine low-porosity hair. I'm glad I purchased from Ulta, they have a generous return policy so I can take them back. I think this brand just isn't for me.

Thanks so much for doing these comparisons, I’ve been trying their products and some work really well for me and some not at all. I love their blue line and the multi-tasking conditioner. The purple line shampoo dried my hair out so badly, I’ll never use it again

Thanks, that was helpful. Especially regarding the amounts you used. I tried the same products (cream and hydro-style gel, with foam too) and I had to wash it straight out as it was just a clogged up mass that couldn't be salvaged. I'll try again next gel style day and halve the amounts. :) I wasn't using a whole lot, just what I would use of cheaper products, but it was an unbelievable mess!

Your hair on the in-shower style fixer side is GORGEOUS: so clumped and luscious. But I understand what you mean about how it makes your hair feel. I thought it left a residue on my hair. I haven’t been able to get it to work yet. I don’t understand why this gel flash dries bc it doesn’t have protein.

I liked the results I got with the In-Shower Style Fixer but I didn't realize it had the Itchy M's until AFTER I used it, and I'm allergic to them. 😐 Luckily, I only bought the travel-size bottle and I gave it to a friend. Since then I haven't been interested in trying Curl Smith, especially knowing that a lot of their products are pretty heavy and I have fine hair that is easily weighed down. Thanks for the comparison, though!

I want to love curlsmith but like you I don't like feeling product and just can't get my head round diffusing and a cast as I prefer to blow-dry my wavy hair with a round brush and curlsmith stylers don't seem to do that well. If anyone has found a good curlsmith combo for doing this please let me know.😊

Question-In the dry cold winter months, do we want a humidity blocking gel? Or will the humidity blocking gel do a better job at holding in moisture?

This was a great comparison and very helpful. I've personally not been able to use the In Shower Style Fixer because of flash drying, I wonder if trying a more moisturizing cream underneath would help with that...hmmmm. I also don't love their shampoos, my hair is fine and weighed down easily - combine that with soft water and the shampoos don't do it for me. Have you tried the new Shine gel? I've had GREAT success with that one so far!

I find the Curlsmith products quite concentrated compared to some others. I need to use less, and wet style rather than damp style. My summer combo has been the air dry cream topped with aqua gel. I’m wondering what to do as the winter approaches and the air gets drier. Any suggestions?

You can’t be surprised that you don’t get a cast, when you only use a drop of gel on your hair. Lol hilarious.
