I've tried to get reactors to do this song......such a poignant message for all ages 💗🕊️. First time I heard it when it came out I cried 😓. Very underrated and under appreciated song and band 💗🕊️. Next to should do Wait by them. Very emotional song for me 💜

I still cry when I hear it! When it’s came out I had my dad listen to it. He loved its message. Being a child of the Cold War era (born in 69) this is what we all hoped for our future. Shame it hasn’t happened yet. Millinials listen up!!! This song was for you!

This is such a good song. It’s inspirational to me. We definitely need this song in the world today. Things are far worse today than they were when this song came out. It’s one of the things that I love about music from the 70s and 80s is that it touched on real things. It had messages, good messages. I love your reaction to this song!

Esa canción debería ser premiada cm la mejor de los 80s cn el respeto q se merece las demas agrupaciones, pero algo infravalorada cn poca difusión radial, aquí en Perú existe radio oxígeno, radio oasis, y mágica q tocan rock clásico, pero en ninguno lo ponen, hay temas muy hermosos q merecen difundirse en el mundo y en cada momento, whe a children cry tiene una gran mensaje de paz mundial, un gran sonido, composición musical arreglos y un solo impresionante, y yo digo porque?, Yo lo escuché en el 99 radio z hoy desaparecido y he aprendido de musica gracias a esa emisora, hoy los jóvenes en su vida han escuchado ese tema, q para mi es la mejor canción de los 80s y porq no las 5 mejores de todos los tiempos

Wow! I had forgotten about this song and how much it speaks the truth. I agree that in reality we are more united than media portrays us to be. Controversy and chaos are what is served to us in the media. But if people would just look around and see how many people are trying to stay out of the drama and be good humans, I think they'd be surprised. We have a choice every day, and for my part, I actively choose kindness. ❤

In some ways, the song is about the singer, Mike Tramp. His dad left him and his mom (and his two brothers) when he was five or six years old. On top of that, he and his family had moved to the US from Denmark around that time, and it naturally left an impact on him. In some ways, that “little child” remark, is talking about when he was a scared little kid and the world was a scary and sad place.

The 80s, man. That's what was going on. We were realizing stuff and it was scaring us... not in the same way as our parent or our grandparents. We were realizing that we were RESPONSIBLE for what was handed to is.

This song came out in 87 at the time we were at war with Saddam Hussein in the Iraq/Iran war. That war ended in 88 though so I'm not sure if that was it or not.

87 we were backing Iraq and Hussein in the war with Iran. I'm just correcting the historical record for the sake of accuracy. Hussein was an ally at the time.

Been lucky to meet and talk with three guys who has played or was a member of White Lion at some point or time. All were amazing. But there is Vitto Bratta that i wana meet. He is so private now but it would be amazing to meet him. That guy is one of the most underrated guitarists of our times. What an icon !

White Lion was always quite political in their messages.. Every one tried to think they were watered down Glam or Hair metal.. But, they weren't. Great band, all 4 of their studio albums were amazing

Exactly the msg is unity. Get rid of all the hate and just love one another. Hell I grew up in the 80's and 90's and never knew the color of skin was a thing cause of where I grew up we didn't look at it that way. Either you a good dude or bad dude. That was it. Then Obummer took office and set us back to the 50's on that sadly. FYI This song came out in late 80's right before the fall of the Berlin war. End of the Cold War Era.

This song was released in 1988 before the cold war (USA v. USSR) ended about 1991. The guitarist, Vito Bratta, is one of the very best rock guitarists not just of that 80s hair metal era, but all-time. The band broke up and he just doesn't want to come back into performing.

I guess, what inspired the song mostly is deppression after vietnam war. Most 80's rock band have songs about war, peace, etc... The artist was children when the vietnam war happened... So they have childhood memory about war tragedy...

There is always a band with a song that foreshadows responsibility to the next generation. These terrors of the world are out there, and we have to be stewards of this home Earth. Learn to continue the successes and learn to avoid the failures. We’re by no means passing you something perfect, but you are going to inherit great responsibilities that will effect many. This time was the end of the Cold War era. Unfortunately nothing has changed much and we all hoped by now it would have. It’s a beautiful song. War has always been a part of our world but we really hoped it would change for our children but it hasn’t.

This song was released in '87, that year there were several BIG 'tragedies' around the globe, there was the Chernobyl disaster, the war in the middle east, the stock market crash and the collapse of the currency in Venezuela. There was so much suffering and so much to rebuild, it was devastating.

The song sings about a world that can not survive together, so man destroys everything standing which cause children to cry and ask why? But now with nowhere to go the children live as best they can to survive and to rebuild life once again. But in reality the world will get destroyed once again and the children’s children must carry on….if there’s anything left to live for,

I was 12 and as I recall It’s was the year before the Cold War ended, still a few years before the Berlin, wall would come down. It was around the middle of The Northern Irish conflict AKA “The Troubles”. The Iran/Iraq war was happening. Basically there were a shit ton of wars and conflicts happening all around the world. The Iran-Contra affair just ended. It was during the the AIDS epidemic and there were starving children in Ethiopia. The world was a hot mess and to top it off it was under constant threat of a nuclear war. But at least we still had Saturday morning cartoons

There really wasn't anything going on. This song was between all the 80's rumors of war with Russia and the early 90's desert storm. It was 1987 and actually a time of stillness.
