Old school, man, old school. I'm 60 years old, and I'm happy to see the younger generations fall in love with the way of making and singing songs from that time, which for us was absolutely normal.

I grew up listening to the Gibb brothers in the ‘70s. It’s true. Music these days rarely touches the soul and make one tear up and give you genuine feels. This particular hit was a great example of angelic, groovy and soulful at the same time. You never get tired of their music no matter how long you play them on repeat. They remain a timeless classic for a reason! 😊

Nope. This is identical to the record so it’s 27 overlaid tracks consisting of 18 solo tracks by Barry and 9 of the 3 brothers together.. They may have been also singing live but 3 voices don’t produce that sound, not even the Gibb Brothers.

Spiritof Elijah They were. He laid 18 tracks of his own. If you’re interested there’s a really good in depth interview with Karl Richardson about the making of the “Spirits Having Flown” album from which “Too Much Heaven” is taken. He talks about how Barry was at his songwriting zenith then and practically lived at the studios throughout whereas Robin and Maurice just came in to do their bit and then left. For TMH Barry did 18 separate vocal tracks which were so perfectly identical they had to “roughen” them up in the studio. Incredible talent. The interview is on Albumism, easy enough to find.

Many years ago in Sydney Aust ( mid 60s ) a girl friend and I passed them in the street , my friend said ' that was the BeeGees 'I turned back to have a 2nd look, 2 of them had their guitars but at that time I wasn't overly interested just 3 kids out walking , I have lived to regret my lack of interest .

Want to hear all FOUR brothers? You Should Be Dancing, the 70's version, with baby brother Andy, has a great disco beat, John Travolta dancing from the movie Saturday Night Live, and watching and hearing how the four brothers have it down to an art..I love it. I think you would, too.

Grew up with it.... Everywhere you went the Bee gees were were playing. I had no idea it would be treasured by so many years after their original releases. It was Impossible to not gravitate towards the sound. Even my orthodontist played them in his office. I'm so incredibly happy to have lived during their time, and it's such a feeling seeing people *today* pulled up into their gift.

You got it. Older people weren't knocking new music, they were only saying it was a different style. Seeing your excitement is EXACTLY how we reacted to it all those years ago. Now that you've found it, you can enjoy it and pass it down to younger generations. Maybe future entertainers can be inspired by these tunes and write songs similar to this style. This song has a fantastic melody, you can understand the lyrics, and the harmony is at a level that is off of the chart. These are the qualities that older folks use to measure songs from then to compare with songs today. I think you could see why it's said "not what it used to be". By your face and reaction to this, I think you can see why. I will watch your future reactions because it's a feeling we had, and reliving it through you is wonderful. Stay safe my friend.
