The cane is turned on a Legacy five axis CNC controlled machine. The total machining time takes 50 minutes. Most of the CNC programs are hand written.
The walking Sticks have a dual tip. Rubber for city walking and stainless steel spike for more rugged condition's.
After machining the real work begins. I load the cane on my standard lathe and sand it in preparation for finishing. I spray finish the canes and walking sticks to protect them from the weather.
