looks pretty shit stained from the video. that kind of smog was deadly real in that era, right before the banned lead in gas. and yes, i was alive then. i've seen smog this bad in person a few times. you could taste it. they used to joke you could chew it.

any idea what the source of this footage is originally? i'm curious if this was a skilled tourist with a hand cam, or if this was actually shot by one of the studios or the city to promote tourism.

The original source was a Spanish TV cameraman for a program dedicated to Hollywood. It was recorded in early December 1987.
