@@PanPan-ml1ip idol showdown definitely doesn't have more content. It only has 8 members and a few assists. Each character has a lot of animations so you could say it was harder to create but for the player holocure has a lot more stuff to try out and they are constantly updating the game

It's not really a game or a dev team, but it's just a touch reminiscent of the amount of effort Oshi no Ko's studio (Doga Kobo I think?) and Akasaka-sensei put in the franchise. They made a KZfaq channel, made one of the VAs a vtuber avatar of the character she voices, which she actually streamed with *2 months before the anime even came out.* They literally made 3 *whole music videos* (Sign ha B, Full Moon, and Star⭐T⭐Rain I think?) on top of the absolutely stellar opening, ending, and OST just for 11 episodes of the damn thing.

Imagine the work of creating the pixel art for characters/enemies + moving, elaborate/create/art/test weapons create the art animation for weapons and skill for the characters, make the sound track/levels develop new gameplay mechanics and mini games, code all of this and everything with the highest quality possible, bug fixes/support after launch AND EVERYTHING for FREE... this guy deserve more in life idk what we've done to deserve this soul in our lives, thanks Ka Yu!

He answered it on his HoloDev Twitter account that making it compatible with Multiplayer should've been done from the start, and if implemented now, a complete overhaul is needed. So basically, it is kind of impossible at the moment.

Even if the dev wanted to, they can’t sell the game. Cover Corp would have to be involved in some form or fashion for that to be the case due to the game so heavily and directly referencing their copyrighted works. Like it’d have to be officially licensed, meaning a direct revenue share with Cover Corp, either through purchasing of a licence agreement to use specific copyrights (in this case, character likenesses), cover officially publishing the game and paying the dev for their work, or some other form of revenue sharing agreement between the dev and Cover corp. Mad props to the dev though, I need to hop on and play more, but before the move to steam I must have put in just shy of 40ish hours minimum, game looks, sounds and plays brilliantly, and now I can FISH!? yeah I’m updating later to play!

The big difference with HoloEarth is HoloCure will never be multiplayer (yet) because Kay Yu said himself that if you want to play multiplayer HoloCure, he needs to scrap the coding from the strat.

He's not just a random fan, he's an established animator with a reputation so there's an amount of security in them dealing with him as well. I'm more amazed that the holohouse mode ended up ballooning like that, and apparently they decided "fuck it" and actually are planning on have it be feature complete instead of slowly updating. All because if it was incomplete, it'd feel weird (and probably to not let the time between updates complicate making all parts fit together smoothly, code-wise).

@@OxygenC2 I mean I’m not knocking the design. Dude worked on slot machines in the past and you can tell. It’s pretty genius, but obviously designed with a very specific objective in mind, and considering how easy it feels like it would be to add content what has come out is pretty disappointing to say the least.

Chances are good he might work on official stuff in the future, he had a talk with Cover a while ago but he couldn't say what they talked about, only that it was good news.

They tried to, but Kay Yu refused, since he wanted to do this as a passion project, not a paid project. And I am sure that Cover would have offered him a big deal for it.

yesterday i was like wtf, they overdid a bit with the new features, as they are not really related to the core game, but i gues more is always good and it can work if you can connect with your friends. in any case is amazing what this devs have been doing for a passion project you can feel their love.

So being real of the real here, this is what a good deal of people would love to be able to do, and that is making passion projects. I think its awesome that they are able to do this, and commend them for spreading love to the community, but if they say their creative energy would get tapped if they got paid, then I think people should respect that. Sometimes mentally, if people don't have that one thing, whether it be receiving the love from others, whether it be keeping their artist integrity, and so on and so forth, everything else crumbles(think of it like breaking a Nen vow lol, you're sapping this person's power from trying to shove money in their face even if it comes from a place of love). So I'd say if they really tell you that it'd be detrimental for them to receive payment, then I say believe them. Also, I would say it is definitely a bad thing to say that professional developers are worse because they are getting paid, because there is always nuance there.
