This is what made me a little uncomfortable about it. Calli was there to translate and everyone bought it, even though Risu and Gura were at the same room, and Risu accusing Gura, but Gura had the opportunity. Damn, this game is too confusing with language barrier...

she made the mistake of using long complicated (for non-speakers) sentences. JP had no idea what she was saying. Ame figured it out to just use simple statements which is why they always believed her.

@@luxie8097 fair argument, but i think Calli, Risu and Iofi should help translate Gura's sentences, just like how Kiara helped to translate on the previous collab. For this stream, it can't be helped since everyone was very immersed into the game.

@@luxie8097 tbf it can either be because of two things Gura used complicated sentences (kind of hard to understand for non english speakers) and using long sentences (most games it sounds sus when they use long sentences because it sounds like you are making reasons)

Ame was pretty easy to work out when she's an imposter because she gets really trigger happy on the accusations and doesn't try to cover for others. Risu and Ame accuses Gura a lot but Gura doesn't pick up on it for the 1st few rounds but tbf to her, no one else did either, other than Calli. Gura got trolled on hard this game.

Nobody could cover Gura because she often went off alone. She also barely used any simple JP phrases like Calli and Ame, had an asssetive tone against accusations - these only made her sound unconvincing. Ame also accused Mori almost as often as Gura so I believe Gura wasn't trolled, in reality, her ways were simply ineffective.

how do you work out that ames "really trigger happy" when shes literally impostor all the time so there is no frame of reference for how she acts as crew(she also acted similarly as crew in the last round). thats just the post hoc analysis of a spectator with access to all the information

There were two main problems for Gura in this. She always walked alone and that put her at disadvantage due to nobody vouching for her. Second is that there wasn't a reliable translator for her. Not saying it was Iofi's job to translate but she also took advantage of the language barrier at times. You can see the diff of skill between Iofi and Kiara in JP language.

Yea, of course, comparing Iofi who is a native Indonesian speaker, and Kiara who lives in Japan in terms of translating EN JP would seem rude. However, I don't think he has any ill intentions. Hololive's fanbase is growing fast, we have to tolerate a lot of new folks attitude, don't attack focus on defending your oshi. You don't want to see a community war on Hololive again right?

That part with Gura accusing Suisei reminded me of that one time I happened upon a person covered in blood and holding a knife standing over a corpse with multiple stab wounds, of course I did what anyone would in that situation and said "pardon me sir, but did you brutally murder this gentleman?" To which he responded "I don't speak english" so of course I did what any would again and said "Understandable, have a nice day!" And went along my merry way.

@@kaiogiovanni I mean there were 5 people: calli, gura, and nene = crew mates. Suisei and Ame = imposters. If all crew mates voted suisei, she would get ejected for sure. Calli or Gura could use simple english like: "nene, vote suisei" in chat. Unfortunately, maybe other crew mates were confused and did not do that.

Well actually they aren't getting flak some people are just asking for a dedicated translator or not talking so fast(and talking all at once) that the translator can't keep up. (rip Mori) But from I've seen people liked the collab.

@@MrToonlink53 Instead of having a translator, it's much better for the girls to learn and adapt to the situation. If they have a translator, they will have less reason to learn the other language. If you watched all the POV, there's only 1 side that got hit hard by the language barrier, since the others just go with the flow(did not take the game too seriously) or adapt like Ame.
