​@@DinnerForkTongueOut of all of those A-chan is the only one that seems more fluent in English but, she's just ancillary staff that happens to be able to put her linguistic skills to use for stream and events. Even Hacahama made it seem like in a conversation recently she's lost her step with it and despite how good Lui is for translation she rarely seems to do English streams unless an EN member is present and even then it's just for the JP audience. Ririka is probably going to be the stand out and I'm all for it. Maybe it'll inspire Lui and Haachama to get better and for the other girls studying to go the distance.

A-chan is not a center-stage figure, at least most of the time, although in her administrative duties she can feasibly dip into more advanced Eigo than the usual Cover employee, be it talent or staff. Still would be dope, even if it was restricted to Hololive channel's membership. Haachama-chama's skill is, by her own admission, rusty from disuse. (And this is just speculation, but some past incidents could be putting her off.) But bless the strongest idol, she is making an actual effort to connect with her English language audience with the collabs and the occasional stream, like Don't Scream a short while back. Iruiru has a history of insecurity with her English ability (unwarranted if you ask me), but more importantly, she's focused on being a musical artist and that really doesn't require much focus on another language. Song can be listened to and appreciated even by people who don't understand its language, unless the lyrics are meant to be the spotlight, which last I ckecked, isn't Lui's case. I doubt we'll get any more Eigo from her than we already do. Kanade also has decent English skill, but she's not as intent on exploiting it as Ririka does.

Years? Based on what I just saw in this, depending on how often she studies, I think weeks or months could be reasonable.

@@sitisirait6765 Not in my experience. Ririka is more consistently correct with her phonetics, while at least until a month or two back, A-chan sometimes stumbled, especially with the L/R distinction.

​@@sitisirait6765 pronunciation is not really important, it's comprehension and vocabulary which makes Ririka and A-chan fluent, I'd put Ririka above A-chan for that like Susei and Raden has good pronunciation but has zero English, they wouldn't be able to hold a conversation except one liners they read

English is an easier to learn language, its pronunciation can be frustrating and the syntax is at times odd but otherwise doable since it takes from so many languages.

Depends on how early you start, the methods you try to learn with, and if you’re trying to become fluent or just trying to be understood. Your comment has a couple errors I could nitpick, which is obviously ironic, but it’s clear you’ve learned English well enough to be understood, and that’s all that really matters imo.

Kinda depends on your starting language. Going from most asian languages to English is pretty tough since they have so little in common.

I think most would want to be fluent, but it's about priorities. I could give a pragmatic explanation but it'd be kind of depressing.

​@@yong9613Koyori says their whole gen, HoloX, before debut, management asked them to take the TOEIC exam, to give them an idea of their English skills. There wasn't a requirement for them to score well.

She has prime potential for that, for sure. Her speech flow is excellent, and her pronunciation is mostly free of vices. She and Kanade could become legitimate honorary EN Holomems. What's more, I'd really enjoy hearing an English karaoke with Shachou. Music and song is a prime learning aid, and ReGloss is heavily music-oriented as is.
