​​​@@yrosanher parents were very strict with her when she was younger, specially her dad, she hated that and well one time the fight was very bad to the point of her dad pushing her to the ground, she didnt take any of that shit and pushed him back to the ground as well.

@@GPPandaher mom wasn't that strict but ayame noticed that her mom has a habit of being two faced to ppl thats why ayame just being careful. Her dad was very strict but at least he is straightforward with things.

@@yrosan It's really not that serious. They (mostly her dad) were strict on her growing up and her dad is/was seemingly the type to not express himself much so there's a bit of a wall. Ayame gets along with them though, as shown in this, as well as stories she's told such as how her dad is very shy so when he buys her mother gifts he has Ayame give them to her for him. Another example being her teaching him how to use Line and then him awkwardly inviting Ayame to dinner with it.

Please be careful about this kind of family stuff when you're uncertain. We already has example case like Kanatan's mother Sayuri-san.

That's rather misleading - the Balmuda is a miniature *oven*, not just a toaster. It goes to 450°F (230°C), and can cook bread and pastries (with a humidity mode so it doesn't dry up). Obviously it's overpriced and meant for single people with too much money (imo that sort of device should be priced at $150 max). But at the same time, miniature kitchen appliances rarely get cheaper when they get smaller - sometime the miniaturization even increases the costs. That's why half sized fridges aren't at half price for the same build quality, because the main costs remain pretty much the same: the compressor and circuit remain pricey to manufacture. Here this mini oven is likely using similar parts as the ones found on larger oven (to be able to reach 450°F), but crammed into a tiny box, so what would have been saved on the slightly less powerful system goes into assembling it into a much smaller unit. The worst part in my opinion is how the entire margin, half the price of it, goes into the design aspect only. At $300, you would expect a "Made in Japan", but nah, all their products are outsourced to third party manufacturers in China.

@@TubeofDestiny Yeah, Balmuda is just the company and in english seems to call the product "The Toaster" so I took their word for it. I wasn't terribly impressed browsing their website as they are selling a $150 USD pour over kettle that isn't even temperature controlled and that doesn't sit flush on its base in an awkward way.

@StephenrHamilton Yeah I looked it up out of curiosity, they like to over design seemingly simple things: they sell a "Lantern" at $150, when it's just a series of LEDs, a variator and a rechargeable battery in a plastic casing, so $50 max. Basically, all their products got $100 added on top for the "design" of the brand. They're likely going the Apple route: a way for middle-class people to _feel_ like rich people. Actually rich people don't buy these things, their toasters are either: - priced $500+, made by world-famous designers who showed that work in New York in an art gallery, can last 50 years and can do 2-slices or 4-slices at once, never actually used and serves as a piece of decoration. - priced $100, used by their servants every day in the service kitchen by the garage. By selling a kettle at $150, or a mini-oven at $300, it's basically offering people who can afford $500 of extra spending a month (aka middle-class), the sensation that they've made it into the world of abundance. All the people who can't afford the large mansions, the private jet holidays, the servants and chauffeurs, can "at least" get a kitchen appliance that makes them fancy. It's like flaunting the latest iPhone and Apple Watch, it's basically mid-class crisis.

Wouldn't be too surprised if the idea gets thrown around the office every now and then- but also wouldn't be surprised if some of the talents vehemently keep shutting it down. Pekora would literally die of cringe, for example.

​@@GPPanda I wouldn't really say that. The fight was a one-off thing that she recalled while laughing and smiling, so she clearly isn't harbouring any bad feelings. There's a clip circling about how her mother's strict, but if anyone actually watched it, she specified being strict about manners. I don't know about your culture, but in most of Asia, they seem like typical parents. If you can chill around, talking about anime, the relationship is way past 'trying' and actually pretty close.

I'm not Japanese but as another Asian (SouthEast to be exact) you're just gonna have to learn to forgive your parents at one point when you become an independent adult. Unless they're just trash parents who don't actually care about you. I've already learned to roast/joke to them for all the torment I went through growing up 😂
