You're absolutely spot on. You could only get a factory 4WD in a regular cab dually, or a cab & chassis

The amount of "Ford experts" that I argue about that with is insane but alot of dealers had them converted before they even saw them; same when I tell them ford didn't offer a dually pick-up until 1980 only cab and chassis had dual rear wheels as an option

You're correct couldn't get a dually in a crew cab good friend bought one an converted it to a dually in 97 he still has it . Sharp truck though

Level the front out and slap some 37s, you know it would look so good! Tint the windows, clear headlights, tails, cab lights, simple but clean,

I’ve got a friend that has a factory truck identical to that. 4/4 crew cab dually. So they did make them. What kind of rims should I put on my single rear wheel first gen can’t decide and lights

It’s either a factory dually pickup or a factory 4x4. Couldn’t have both.

Im willing to bet it was converted to dually than it converted to 4wd. 2wd to 4wd requires frame modifcation, i know personally i did it myself on one. And and its so much cleaner and easier to make a 4x4 srw in to a dually, than it is to make a dually 2wd into a 4wd

As far as I know you couldn't get any dually pick up (single, ext, or crew, diesel or gas)4x4 but cab chassis you could.

If this truck is a unicorn then I have a unicorn of unicorns because I have the exact same truck to the T(1997 Powerstroke) that has NEVER been converted and it is a true 4x4.

What do you mean? They never made this truck as a true 4X4 from factory with this configuration as a Dually.

@@LOUDNPROUD They did make this truck in a 4x4 however there very hard to find in this configuration - which is why your truck was converted. Mine never was converted which is why I said true 4x4. Nice truck you got bro. Mine has 178,000 and is inter cooled as well. That was a conversion to the truck.
