It is a shame because the ultimate diss is being able to bend and twist words, weaving them into a tapestry, colorful, meaningful and smooth as silk. Kendrick is a wordsmith to end all wordsmiths and this song is one of my favorites of this battle.

so, 6:16 is a reference to the 3 hour time difference line from euphoria. in the zoomed out video of the cover art the time stamp says 9:19. new york (where that hotel is) is 3 hours ahead of compton. drake’s thing about turning 9 upside to 6 god = 6:16 turned upside down is 9:19. also refers to 69 god in not like us lol kendrick is completely insane

But luckily,there are also moments such as in a battle,where the best compete with each other, and a more accurate measurement can be made of there status. There might be people who still believe drakes bars are just as good,and a few still think is better than kdots, but most will tell you today, and in due time the rest will follow suit, that kdot is just the better rapper. It's those moments where the best seperate themselves, and rise to the top. Nas didn't need ether to prove he was a great lyricist. But ether proved he was better than Jay, crowning him the king of NY. People could believe kdot was the g.o.a.t. Before drake: that's their preference. Preference is an formed opinion subjective to each person that gives it. Watching kdot battle one of his rivals to the throne, and the way he aired his ass out like some shitty drawls, is tangible evidence which can only be denied by those out of touch with reality. While you could only believe kdot was that man before this, which was yourpreference of opinion, he justified his status, proving he is that man, by the tangible evidence given in his performance in this battle

That first verse is speaking in Drake’s perspective. This one was smaller hits that mainly Aubrey would understand while Meet The Grahams was a direct hit speaking to the indictment and deconstruction of his character. That’s why we’re all still reeling months later.

I love how this beef helped me find so many new channels. This is really one of the best. I love how you really understood the psychological warfare that this was. Obviously Kendrick raps a lot better than Drake can but I feel like this was the most impactful track of the battle. This set the stage for not only Drake but the fans to think that Drake has a leak in his camp, only for it to be all but proven with Meet the Grahams. It also showed that Kendrick was true to his word on Euphoria and can drop quickly at all times. High level chess.♟️
