This song is so powerful when performed by the band alone, but to hear a multitude of voices raised up singing “No one else is worthy. All good comes from Your mighty hand.” is the closest thing I can imagine to what Heaven must be like. Glory and praise be to God, the Father, Creator of all things and to His Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer.

People who like the sensation and iconography of evil will need to come to their own senses to embrace a Godly message. They will have to get sick of the darkness first. I appreciate Green and his band mates’ work though it’s not to my own taste (way too preachy!) and I prefer bands like Crimson Moonlight who are better at ‘seducing’ metal fans to the side of the Most High (see short film Nemesis Divina).

This is honestly what it was like seeing Sleeping Giant back in the day (for obvious reasons). The shows would rip and then would, by the power of God, turn into heavy worship where I saw, again and again, those who would start in ridicule (fans who were there to see other bands) end up weeping with their hands raised. Great to see so many amazing musicians coming together to create HolyName!
@Emmanuelwithus8 ай бұрын
God has really joined these guys together and I believe will bring many to Christ, especially those who are metal heads and rockers. I've been a musician for most of my 49+ years and came to Christ during what I believe was the peak of contemporary Christian music. I was also a Hatebreed fan before I came to Christ. Jamey Jasta and later Brian Welch, reinvigorated my love for metal when he came to Christ and kept his passion for metal and love for Christ and made a new band to reach out to us metal heads. Long story short, Holyname is a refreshing band that deeply loves God and has used their talents to praise Him and reach out to the lost. Tommy Green profoundly preaches and draws one in to worship in a way only God designed. The guys on the instruments are just phenomenal as well! Great band and look forward to listening to their spirit filled music and going to their concerts.

Why was it so hard to find a sold out full surrendered band to Jesus at Furnace Fest this year? Guys, this is the time for more bands like Holy Name to start a Jesus movement.
@youvegotmysong10 ай бұрын
I like Tommy's take on orthodoxy. Personally, I think there is a problem with the protestant church as it stands. There is something closer to Christ in a more ritualistic worship of God. Many young men are returning to Catholicism as it brings them closer to St. Peter and thus closer to the root of Christianity. So many Christian metal bands were brought up in milquetoast Christianity of course almost all of them have fallen out of the faith because of it. I'd love to see a Christian metal bands follow in the steps of Batushka.

There aren't too many anymore, it's just sad. A lot of these bands start off as Christian bands and now they look and act just like the world,. Where are the spirit filled bands. God has put them in a place to make damage to the darkness, it's time to start doing that.

@@theinvisiblemusic It is no man's place to judge someone's outward appearance, No one has the right to decide if this is or isn't praise. We are flesh and of dust. We see what's in front of us in the material world. God does not see what we see, God sees what in us. For if God enjoys the praise of his people he will inhabit it. In other words in a very simple way. We only see 3 steps ahead at most. God at minimal sees 15 steps ahead

I am sorry but Tommy Green owes it to his audience, as a confessing Orthodox Christian to distinguish between a rock concert and worship. If he were still a Protestant there would be no problem because Protestant worship is not high priestly Divine Worship as the Orthodox Church defines it. Green needs to differentiate between his rock shows and what goes on during the Divine Liturgy in the Church whose doctrine he now confesses as a self-described Orthodox Christian. I hope his priest and bishop make this clear to him, in a kindly way.
@Holyspiritdriven__5 ай бұрын
He’s up there leading worship to God. You can praise Him anywhere.
@claesvanoldenphatt99725 ай бұрын
@@Holyspiritdriven__ he is not far from the same error he pointed out in Protestant churches, with their cults of personality and substituting the pulpit for the chalice. What I object to is the blurring of the lines, a confessing Orthodox Christian working in a subgenre calling itself Worship Music. It’s a rock performance, not a church service. If the two are conflated it mangles both.

@@claesvanoldenphatt9972The problem comes in when church becomes a rock concert. He's encouraging people to participate in a worshipful way - which should happen all over our lives. If someday he tries to make a rock version of the Divine Liturgy, then we've got issues.
@claesvanoldenphatt9972Ай бұрын
@@afterwit3620 yeah I guess so. He’s coming from a subculture where a rock concert is called specifically ‘worship’ and moving into a a place where worship is defined by liturgy. It will take time. I don’t care for this kind of show myself.
