I don’t know if it’s just me, but because of how re-watched Home Alone is and with how much it’s a pop culture staple, especially around Christmas time, it’s so easy to forget that real people were involved in it’s creation and that it didn’t always exist.

Don't judge a book by it's cover.The same can be said for humans. Macaulay was pressured by his parents fighting over who gets his big earnings.He never enjoyed fame or fortune and quit acting in 1994. It is his own parents that pulled him down and led him to drugs. But now,he is not a drug addict.He is healthy,happy and back on track.He is happy with his band,his art-filled apartment etc.He returned to acting but less often than he used to as a kid.

“Not out the window.” (That sounded a lot better than the line that was in the movie: “I’m not going out the window!”) “Marv, I’ll tell everybody at the bar. Come on.” (That sure was improvised there - and very funny too, even though it was not in the final cut.) I also liked this line of Kevin’s in the deleted scene titled “A Savvy Shopper” from the Family Fun Edition DVD of Home Alone: “Excuse me. What’s that stuff that you put in the washing machine that makes your clothes feel as fluffy soft as a kitten and smell as fresh as a springtime breeze?” :)
