Still needs another balance test (reason I didn't spin it up to full speed) but it's working well.

Power it with a small two-stroke engine so you can call it "ARSE", "Air Raid Siren, Engine-powered".

there are Absolutly no internal fins to move the air that's why it's not sounding off. there's air but it's not being forced through the baffles because there are no fins to push it.

If its still too quiet you could have some force-air induction system like a shopvac or blower of some kind like the FS Thunderbolt uses

I think the principle doesn't need fins to push the air. The fins that are in these, like a liquid centrifugal pump, capture the air. Since air, like water, has mass, it flies outward from centripetal force, and here is interrupted by the stationary slots. Enough interruptions per second begins to form the sound. I understand this principle but it is a little hard to explain easily!

hi Mac Man, to make your siren produce a more powrful sound, you have to make a smaller aluminium foil cylinder to make the air enter the siren.

My biggest mistake with that one was belt driving it. Way too much friction

Nice siren, you are most popular for it. I suck at making homade sirens, I have only made attempt to make one and it failed.

Glad you liked it, yeah even this was pretty basic at the time, it all depends on what materials you have around, maybe you could try an electronic siren or something, all you need is a speaker, and a cone or horn to amplify the sound!

Instead of using the belt for the movement of the siren, simply just make it the easy way. stick the motor onto the inner rotating thingy (i forgot) just saying

Yeah i've got a ton of work to do on it including running the motor faster (it was a variaced washer motor) and rebuilding the rotor fins. They dont quite meet up with the stator ports

It was a school project that I was finishing off at home. The outer stators were made from commercial drain pipe which I measured and cut the ports in. The originals had a 12:10 port ratio but I halved it to 6:5. All of the grey coloured parts are made from sheet PVC which is very tough and easy to work with. The rotors were made similar to the stators but had to be turned perfectly round on a lathe in order to avoid hitting the insides of the stators and also had to be balanced. The outer rings aren't perfect but they don't interfere with the overall result.
