Home-Built Animatronic E.T. Puppet

7 жыл бұрынBuilt as part of an "Elliot and E.T." Halloween costume, this is a 3d printed animatronic eye mechanism, enclosed in a felt-lined paper mache E.T. head. In the rear view, you get a sneak preview of the actual mechanism at work. Powered by an Arduino Uno and a Pololu servo controller, the eyes and eyelids are controlled via a Nintendo Wii Nunchuck; additionally, if the Wii nunchuck is left idle, it will go into "autopilot" mode, where the eyelids will blink at random intervals and the eyes will subtly look around.

I want to make this for a cosplay. I see you 3d printed the head and then paper mache it.. Do you still have the 3d print head files or did you scrap that idea?

I might still have the 3d files for the head, but there’s not very much detail on it. If I can find them, I’ll upload it to my Thingiverse.

Sadly I can’t find the exact source code I used, and when I attempted to re-flash the Arduino a year or two ago with an updated program, it messed everything up. However, I do know that the code I later used for an animatronic parrot project is based on the code from this one: github.com/dcpesses/arduino-animatronic-parrot
