This is absolutely my favorite version. Love the red light, sweetly demonic look. And that little smile by Tim at the end. There's something kind of "I'm up to something" there.

It's the square reflection of the light in their eyes that gives off demonic vibes for me. Am I just not old enough to recall 63 as psychedelic? I think of 68 or so as the real Psychedelic time.

I think you can totally hear the progression of maturity through the three songs! For me, I can hear it most in Adam's beatboxing. Loved the reaction! Thanks for doing all three so we can appreciate the subtle differences.

This is my favorite of the three versions. Chance’s warm, seductive voice, Adam’s more intricate percussion , and the changes to the background vocals are perfection.

The background made me think of both 70s reggae kind of feel and then also their Boondocks / Fishing in the Dark video.

This version with its helish red opening and closing made me think of June Carter's position when she wrote this song. Her love was "sinful," and she grew up knowing the punishment looming in the future which she had to balance against the burning fire of the passion of true love.

Thanks for the triple feature. This song has always been a fan favorite. What a great remake of "Ring Of Fire". The visuals reminds me of "Fishin' In The Dark"/"Boondocks". Chance is a nice addition to the new version. Of course love Tim's lows & Adam's awesome vocal percussion. I think he sounds even better this time.

I think they embraced more of the reggae sound and background. I noticed the cars but on the 3rd viewing. You’re the only reactor who’s noticed the cars which is a throwback to the one with Avi. Love Tim’s low note….he’s getting lower and lower. I think the red faces are indicative of being around a fire with the little wisps of smoke. It’s different and well done. Good one Lyle!😍😃

The version of Ring of Fire with Avi was the first song I ever heard by Home Free so it was very special to me. But I love this new version even more with its more intricate arrangement and mature vocals. As you say, Lyle, Chance's smoky voice gives it a different vibe. I love the Psychedelic feel of the background too.

The red signifies the fire, like the one where they’re in a circle. My thoughts about the video are that they are going back 10 years, showing the nostalgic side, as in the reggae beat bringing out the greens. While the video itself is so different, the new arrangement of the song is my favorite. I love the smoky, low voice of Chance and feel it represents who Home Free is now! Thanks for doing all three videos…I love a walk down Memory Lane.

That last one was very Laugh In 1970's psychedelic. And yet it really fit in with what the Sing Off judge called "country reggae" on the show. I'm the wet blanket. Although I liked the red lighting, I just didn't care for all the psychedelic graphics. I didn't think it went with the song. The song was fine; Tim's expression, with that massive low note and red lighting, was perfect. Thanks for showing all three videos!

LOVE This version. You Lost me Lyle. I think you over thought this one. I love all the nod backs to past video styles and the retro feel esp. in the middle. I Love Chances voice in this, Rupp is still breaking my brain with his skills, Austin and Rob fill up the sound without overdoing a dang thing, and I am So Happy that the WTFoust last note was back (I love Avi, but I really missed Tim's Dragon) Tim being Cheeky is my favorite moment and it cracks me up every time. Bass Face + Eyebrow = Cheeky Smirk. Excellent ! Thanks for this one Lyle ! I appreciated the 3 for different reasons and it was so good of you to do them together ! Much Love Lyle !!!

I still think the first is my favorite, but only because it was live and it's very nostalgic because I always think back to the first time I ever heard them. What a surprise that note is if you don't know it's coming. Now we know it's coming, and it just has a different feel because of it. I never get tired of hearing it, though. Having said that, don't know how it's possible, but imo Tim has gotten even better at hitting that last note over the years. Maybe it was just part of the latest production or whatever they do in the studio/mixing/sound stuff, but that note sounds even stronger and clearer in the newest version. It may be that they sing the song perhaps a half step higher in the second two versions (not sure - I might be wrong/have to listen again), but either way, it's just a stronger clearer note, and I LOVE it. Very cool to look at these side by side. I also love how you can really hear the differences between Chance and Tim's voices highlighted in the latest version. You can hear the differences in tambour so much better when they are singing back to back verses with the same melody in the same octave (aside from Tim's last note). Great job by the guys as usual. Thanks for doing the comparison!

Okay... Loved... More Adam moments! Tim's vocal range and all the awesome highs and lows he hits, plus everything in between! I like the addition of Chance, liked hearing his low notes. Everyone sounds wonderful! Don't love... The look of the video. Sorry, it reminded me of MTV in the 80s. I wanted a creepy Ring of Fire! That's what i was expecting, and i was shocked. Still love them so much though! And why didn't Rob get a solo? The best part of all was watching you, Lyle! You are very hard to read!

This last version is hands-down my favourite. Chance's smooth, sultry voice is adding so much. The Avi-version was my introduction to Home Free 9,5 years ago, and while I love Avi's voice I preferred the Sing-Off version because it was purely Home Free. This new one adds so much maturity to it along with Chance's voice and it just works. I had been tired of them doing this song live until this last Euro tour when I started to enjoy it again. Knowing that they were already in the works with this new version, they told us they had two albums recorded, it makes sense that I did. Great idea to bring in all three versions for the reaction. Thanks, Lyle. ❤

Great reaction. I really enjoy the new version. I love the vibe. Im not say that the sing off version is bad or the ring of fire one with chris in the group as well as avi being in the video bad. I like the growth vocally in my thoughts homefree has come a long way vocally sing 2013 i think all the guys were really good. I like the sticking to the song with a country reggae beat with the 80's video vibe i think Johnny and june would be smiling knowing that homefree is paying a respect of not really changing the lyrics much but at the same time since they are making a new vibe in their own way. I like the fire being in there faces its a nice touch plus i like the brite colors and the truck lights gave a hint of trying to add the trucks from the other version with really reapting what they all ready have done. And wow i for one think all the percussion Adam does and extra sounds i think he has only gotten better since 2013

The close-out of the new version was fun. Tim got to quirk the eyebrow, and everyone stretched a bit on their parts. June Carter believed that she was damned for her affair with Johnny Cash. She was married to another man when they met, and she felt that she betrayed her vows to him and to her god because of that affair. Her divorce and remarriage didn't change that belief. She wrote this to express that no matter that her actions had damned her, she fell into a deep & abiding love that completely consumed her. There was no choice for her in pursing that love.

The original Ring of Fire came out in 1963. It was the time of hippies, the British invasion, the beginning of love everyone, psychedelic drugs and some strange video effects. As I said in my Patreon,Jimmy gave it a throwback to the original's time period. Those who are too young to remember the beginning of the psychedelic era of the early '60's also don't remember the religious uproar that this was a demonic movement. And as Jewel explained,June wrote this song during the time they were seeing each other though both still married. June gave the song a little bit of a sinning feeling as though they were going to hell for love. @Patrol Nation

I suspect that the fact that they're all moving on to something different -- Austin leaving and the group changing -- played into this version. It's one of the songs that got them started, and now it's one of the last they'll do together. It's a great way to show how they've changed, and to show that the 'new' that awaits them will be great.

They leaned more into the Caribbean/Reggae style that it already had from the Sing Off version. Hence the bright colors. One part even had the colors of the Jamaican flag. No one seems to realize that for some reason.

You are a lot to young to understand the background on this, one time on the Cash show June and Johnny Cash used a 60’s retro background while doing this song on the show. So it isn’t 80’s young man, it was a 60’s throwback to it a nod to that episode is what I believe they were going for.

Musically, this version doesn't make my playlist. I feel like they've parodied their most popular song, felt like they couldn't do it "straight." Especially evident in Tim's highs and lows. And that ruins it for me. Also, Chance's voice here doesn't live up to his best moments, for me.
