So beautifully done. Don sounds great for 78! Love the boys harmonies. They were standing in front of Vincent Van Gogh’s paintings. He suffered from mental illness and killed himself. Yes, they made a painting of them like Vincent would have. So clever. Love it! Good one!🥰

This is a tribute to the artist Vincent Van Gogh. Van Gogh almost certainly suffered from bipolar disorder and is believed to have super manic episodes and then deep depression. Many art historians also believe Van Gogh was schizophrenic. His art was not well-received in his life time, so he never achieved much financial success. Van Gogh cut off one of his ears and eventually committed suicide. His paintings are now worth millions of dollars. "Starry Night" is one of Van Gogh's most famous works.

Truly phenomenal! What a voice Don McLean still has! Wow. And of course Austin also sang great, but Rob's voice is just perfect for this song. His voice so warm, soft as silk and full of emotion. The quiet background vocals and guitar playing complete it for me. It's the same song as my youth, but with the Home Free twist it's something different. A beautiful song where I, of course, as a Dutch person, know the sad history of the Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh well. I lived not far from his birthplace for a while. If I could, I would have given Don McLean and Home Free a bouquet of sunflowers in memory of Vincent. The sunflower one of his most famous paintings 🌻...... 💖 💖💖💖💖💖

I've always loved this song and Home Free has made me love it even more. It has always meant a lot to me. Bonus, we get to hear Adam's sweet voice. Don still sounds wonderful. And, Rob!!! Thanks for the Home Free reactions .

Don McLean doesn't write lyrics - he puts poetry to music. This is such a beautiful song, beautifully sung. Home Free's harmonies are incomparable and they're always true to an artist's conception of their song.

What led Don to writing this song was…..he had read a book on the true life of Vincent VanGogh …..he was so taken about him, he wrote this Beautiful, Sad song 😢😔💕‼️💕

All the paintings in the background of the video were paintings by Vincent VanGogh, the last one was his "Starry Starry Night" that the song was titled for. VanGogh was man that suffered from what we now know as Bi-Polar and Schizophrenia, he was very poor and his artistic genius was never recognized while he was alive. He cut off his ear when he was suffering from a bi-polar episode. One can only imagine how horrible his life was at a point in time where people weren't educated or aware of mental illnesses and there was no treatments.

Suggest you look up some of Vincent Van Gogh's art which shows many of the images sung about in this beautiful song.

Van Gogh commited suicide at 37. His brother cared for him all his life.

Enjoyed your reaction. :) The words of this song reference Van Gogh's paintings and his memtal health issues that were both a blessing that helped him create them and a curse that people didn't understand. You can see a lot of his paintings projected in the background of this video.

My hubby of 52 years is Vincent and is a painter. VanGogh's story is worth a read. He suffered greatly from depression that shows in some of his artwork. Vincent aka Starry Starry Night is poetry put to music.

Sincere reaction. Context: Don 'misery sells!' McLean. Vincent van Gogh: post mortem success by failure. He suffered from stubborn desperation. Bad luck.
