Name another group that has done this much diversity over the last 4 years. The number of collaborations with other artists is incredible, in addition to the incredible amount of releases they have produced is mind blowing. They go out of their way to be inclusive of their fans, simply drawing us in so many ways to make us all feel a part of their success. And they are so humble and come across as just everyday folks and not pumping their chests trying to be above their fans & audiences. They are HOME FREE!!!! ❣

This project was so much fun to do! You had to be a patron of both Home Free & Peter Hollens to be included. Each patron got to choose their part and had instructions, sheet music, and follow along video with either Peter or Austin depending on the part. We were allowed to lip sync if not comfortable singing aloud on the video. Peter's crew did all the editing on the submitted videos.

This is so fabulous. The first time I saw it, I actually got teary when the choir came in. What a powerful rendition. I had never heard the original, so I had no expectations - except that it would be extraordinary with this group of talented people. Glad you brought back the boys.

For anyone interested in the technical aspects of this major exercise in herding cats (literally), Elizabeth the Charismatic Voice investigated how it was done. Her video about it is very interesting when it explains how eg the perfect note lengths were achieved with umpteen people singing at home.

I always love the collaboration between Peter Hollens and Home Free. The voices of Peter Hollens and Home Free fit together so well. (And the Patreons) Doesn't this sound amazing? Here, too, the harmony and background,bass is perfect again. And let's not forget Adam Rupp with his incredible vocal percussion/vocal sounds, which unifies everything.

Great reaction! I remember watching this during quarantine and crying watching this awesome collaboration. The version this most closely resembles is I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For off of U2’s Rattle & Hum album. On that album, U2 did version of the song with a gospel choir (and short segments of the song are a cappella moments with the choir) the patreons did such an amazing job recreating that part. 💙

I’m so impressed with this collaboration. Just think of all the work of taking all those submissions and piecing it together. And the fans recording themselves and sending in submissions. So worth it for the end product! it’s really pretty amazing!

Home Free filmed this at their individual homes during Lockdown. I'm sure their patreons were happy to find a fun activity to participate in during those endless days isolated at home. The Editor used videos from 350 patreons.

Can you imagine the editing of this video?!! Goodness, it was so good. Peter is an amazing artist. He and Tim Foust (bass) do a lot of collaborations too. My favorites are Misty Mountains, Greensleeves, And So It Goes. Peter is a master of layering voices so in his collabs with Tim it’s just their two voices even though it sounds like a choir (in Misty Mountains). This was a wonderful version, I love Amazing Grace too.

The song is amazing with everyone taking part. But then I start thinking of the work in getting this out there. The guys were all in separate places, recording their tracks and video. And add to it all the patreons, who each had different mics and video equipment. So the quality variations had to be unbelievable! And they took all of that and put it together into a well done cohesive song and video! Thinking of all that makes it even more amazing.

I’ve missed your Home Free reactions. Peter Hollens is a great artist, too. He has an album out with Tim Foust (Home Fred’s bass). The still their faces come out of is from the video for Amazing Grace that they did together.

I remember when I first saw this. The community of it all brought me to tears. In a time when we were all so isolated, this video was so inspirational. Seeing the people, in all of their individuality, soothed my soul. And dang, it’s good ear candy 😊

Did you recognise the scenes from the beginning, images from the Amazing Grace video, the last one they did with Peter? As they couldn't meet in person when this was filmed, they used it as a framework to start the video from.

Nice break from rap reactions. Love their covers, but not as much as I loved the reaction 😁 P.S. I haven't updated anything about my therapy lately but it's all good, everything is falling into places and I think I'm finally happy. Except one thing, my biggest fear. Couple videos ago I wrote a comment about the history repeat thing, and doing everything to avoid any relationship to cut off any chances to hurt someone I might fell for. I finally decided to speak about it on yesterday's session. My therapist said that after all our talks he can already tell there's no way I'm gonna be like my father... that I seem to be total opposite. It'd be amazing to have someone to spend life with but... I'm afraid this fear is stronger than that.
