That reaction is exactly why us Home Fries like a reactor to get a few HF videos done before watching Mayday. You get comfortable, you know how low Tim can go, you know who does what, and then BAM! Mind blown 🤯 yes, Tim can go that high, and Chance can go that low. 🤯🤯. Tim has about 5 1/2 octaves, and Chance has 4 octaves. When Tim sings lead, Chance holds down the bass. Chance is a bass-baritone and was the bass for his previous group, Street Corner Symphony. Would love you to do Hillbilly Bone next, that’s a really fun one! Would also love the official video followed by a live version of their cover of 9 to 5. The live version has a beatboxing breakdown about three quarters of the way through - it’s EPIC!

He has a 5 octave range. A0-A5. Now, immediately go and listen to Tim Foust's playing piano and singing Can't Stop Falling in Love with You (it is audio only). And then watch his vocal range video A0-A5. Adam Chance, the baritone bass who is featured as bass in this video, is a great bass as well. He sang bass for Street Corner Symphony before he joined Home Free. Fun fact: he is in Home Free's video House Party as an "extra" before he was in the group. Check out Street Corner Symphony (with Adam Chance) singing Uptown Funk. It is fun! I love the bass he lays down in it. I added it to my playlist.

Tim's range is actually A0 to F10. When asked during UVIP at a concert he says he can go lower than the piano's lowest note, but the physical ear wouldn't hear it. He's amazing. Adam Chance also has a 5 octave range but not as low as Tim. Listen to Ring of Fire and this will show how low Tim's goes. In concert, hitting the final note will throw you back in your chair!!!

You never know just who is going to be singing the bass line when they release a new song. It's so fun! Go back and watch their songs and see if you can figure out just who's got the bass. Tim can sing way higher, and you haven't heard him go low yet. I've watched all of your Home Free reactions. I watched a reaction a few months ago, the reactor said "Most A Capella groups search for years td find a bass that can sing lead, and has range - and these guys have two of them?" You have been perceptive. Do one Home Free reaction, we will flock. Keep doing them, and we will subscribe. I just did. You also noticed that they may be mostly country, but they really cross genres without hesitation. And kill it every time.You havent seen any of their remixes, comedy songs, or originals yet.

I held off listening to MayDay mostly because I did not know of the song. I heard it for the first time last week. I find my brain bringing this song up time and time again, especially the rich harmonies in the bridge portion. Anyone that loves acapella ensemble and choir groups needs to listen to this cover of MayDay. And that low note from Adam Chance is like a fog horn blown during times of bad weather. I think they layered a few recordings of his voice for added effect, but kudos that he can hit that low note. Every member of this group participates to the betterment of the complete production. Adam Rupp just continues to push the bar for beat-boxers higher and higher. He is the heart of the group. Glad he got a little video focus just on him. Rob Lindquist continues to make this country boy proud. Austin's confidence continues to build and Tim Faust proves again he is just a beast of a singer. The arrangements are stellar, the harmonies golden and this group blesses me with each and every performance.

I wondered how long it was going to take you to realize that Tim (the bass) came out of the basement and onto the rooftop. lol! The look on your face was priceless. We told you he had a 5+ octave vocal range, and he just showed it to you. Chance in the back usually sings baritone, but he will switch off and on with Tim when Tim takes the lead, something he wasn't able to do when Chris Rupp, (Adam's the beat boxer's brother and one of the founder's of the group) was with them Chance can get down there, but not anywhere near where Tim can go. Now's the time to listen to his version of Elvis' Can't Help Falling In Love With You". Talk about your vocal gymnastic's, Holy Cow!!! It only a audio, but you'll be amazed. Thank you, for another fantastic reaction, Brad.

Yes, the original bass was singing the tenor lead at the beginning (his name is Tim, over 5 octave range). Chance, the bass for this particular song, is usually their baritone. He used to be the bass for Street Corner Symphony, another Sing-Off alum (they were part of the 2nd season). Whenever I watch this video, I think of myself as an interviewer asking them, "So, which of you is the bass?" Then those two just say, "yes!"

Tim Foust (Bass) has a 5 octave range. When he sings lead or high harmony like in this song the baritone, Adam Chance sings bass. He was a bassist in a previous group called Street Corner Symphony. He joined Home Free when one of the founders of the group Chris Rupp, brother of the beat-boxer and other founder Adam Rupp, left to do solo projects. They call Adam Chance just Chance to differentiate him from Adam Rupp. Now, there were instances before Chance joined when Tim sang lead. They got around this in two ways. The first way is Tim would sing much more acoustic songs. The second is Adam does a very good bass drum and also does good bass effects, so at times they would use Adam's bass effects and the lower part of Chris's baritone to create a bassline (usually for less than 30 seconds). If you want to see Adam's bass effects, he has several drum solos on KZfaq.

Home free and pentatonic are great but wait to you hear the South Korean harmony crossover group called “ Forestella” They will blow you mind! A few years ago there was ( and still is ) a 4 male crossover harmony group from South Korea called “Forestella”. When they performed their first song “ Bohemian Rhapsody” (by you know who,) it catapulted them to international stardom and now they have millions of followers worldwide. Like pentatonix one of the Korean vocalists has a very deep bass/baritone voice. Another, a high operatic voice, and the other two group members (who are also solo performers) together combine a harmonic confluence of total passion performed live on stage in front of thousands of their fans. Some of their other songs I recommend : “je suis Malade” popularized by Lara Fabian,, Guardian “ Angel” that will lift your spirits and transport you to another world-especially during these troubled covid times. But I save the best and most hauntingly beautiful song for last. Titled “ hijo de la luna” and i believe it’s their newest and has quickly become one of my all time-favorites. Magical and angelic. I suggest you begin your “Forestella journey with this one. Your goosebumps will have goosebumps. All love from Miami Beach, Florida, Al Al All love from Miami Beach , Florida, Al

I was sad to see Chris Rupp leave, he was one of the founders of home Free, but the addition of Adam Chance (A Baritone) opened up so many options for the group. Adam Chance has a 4 Octave range, and Tim Faust (A Bass) has a 5 + Octave range, letting them swab around the base responsibility, and let both sing tenor at times.

Tim Foust is a marvel, he has a full 5-6 octave range. Adam Chance, the one singing bass in this video, came in to replace Chris Rupp, who left the group to do his own thing. Once Chance joined, this opened up more opportunities for Tim to showcase his full range. From left to right in order the singers are Rob Lundquist (Low-Tenor), Adam Rupp (Beat boxer, sometimes singer), Tim Foust (Bass, Falsetto), Adam Chance (Bass, Baritone) Austin Brown (High-Tenor).

Tim, the first guy to sing is THE bass, his range is crazy. Austin, second guy, is doing his own part, he is their high tenor. Chance, the last guy with the bass voice, he's their baritone, but does bass also. You should get to know them before you let them go messing with your head like that! Lol! Yeah, it's really fun trying to figure out who is doing what, when the group has 2 legitimate basses and both of them can also sing tenor. For a fun contrast, listen to Tim sing the start of this song, and then listen to his bass in a different song, and then listen to Chance sing bass in this one and then listen to the higher tenor notes he hits in 'Can't Stop The Feeling.' It's insane to have that much talent in one group.

Came to 'this' party late, but heard their song. I first became aware of them during the 'Sing Off' competition show. Maybe being a musician & in choir, I automatically start listening (core structure, who's doing harmony, counter & bass/bottom parts). Everyone had gotten to do solos in their repertoire. When Chance replaced Chris Rupp (Adam Rupp's brother both founding members), it gave a wider range. There have been songs where Tim is singing a solo and the bass part is still strong (The mashup of 'Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On'). Chance is strong & secure in his role. In this particular song, Austin & Rob are constantly doing duos, but when Austin is doing a solo, Tim & Rob can be a duo backing up Austin. Chance is doing majority of the bass work on this song. That's the strength in having almost the entire group be able to overlap octaves.

The story I heard on this was Adam Chance, as a low baretone could hit enough bass notes so that he worked as the bass of his previous group. When he was brought on to succeed Chris Ruppe Tim started teaching him techniques to be able to go lower. Home Free wanted Adam to be able to go lower because with *two* people who can hit the low notes Tim would be able to show off his higher register more often. THIS song was basically Adam showing off his improved range and Tim showing how high he could go.
@drewconleymusic

Tim is the listed bass singer but both Tim and Adam are basically interchangeable. They have more or less equal ranges in chest voice with Tim going a little bit higher in falsetto from what I've heard. There are two adams by the way. Adam Chance is the baritone/bass of the group, Adam Rupp is the beatboxer, and of course Tim is the basically anything needed, singing baritone tenor or bass.

If you want to hear Tim at one of his lowest - check out Peter Hollens and Tim singing Misty Mountains from the Hobbit. He has a 5 1/2 octave range. Strangely enough, all 5 guys can sing tenor regardless of what role they normally play. They all have pretty impressive range. Austin does too, he just starts higher up and keeps going into Mariah Carey territory.

Their bass is singing baritone, their tenors are singing tenor, and the guy you don't think is a bass is also one, that's Adam Chance. Two basses, though the one in the back sings baritone most of the time.

Before Chance joined Homefree he was a bass with another group but for now he happily fills baritone role....or bass like in this song. He does bass in "My Church" but it doesn't stand out as much coz Tim doesn't go to his tenor range
