It’s a fun switcheroo with Tim singing tenor and Chance singing the bass. Chance was a bass in his first group and Tim was just showing off his 5 octave range. It’s a catchy song and I love how the boys did it. Good reaction TV. 😍

Chance is a baritone, a higher voiced bass voice. Tim is actually is a basso profundity, the lowest of bass voices.

@@mikegray-ehnert3238, Chance is what's known as a bass-baritone: he can dip into bass, while not quite having the vocal weight of a true bass. Which, on-mic, that really doesn't matter much. Tim is probably not a basso profundo, which requires a VERY loud (fortissimo) at Eb2 off-mic. Range alone doesn't indicate a basso profundo. Because, in reality, many basso profundo's cannot hit -- even in chest voice -- the low notes Tim can, but can sing a C2 or B1 WAY louder than Tim.

This song is one of my favorites. We usually ask reactors to wait to react to this song till they are familiar with the individual members. Then they are surprised at hearing the switch ups in the voices. Tim who is known for his bass can sing in a beautiful higher tenor voice along with Austin & Rob. And Chance can hit the lower bass notes when needed. Adam did a fabulous job as always with his vocal percussion. The original song is sung by a woman Cam, so they sung it in a higher key to match the original. range.

How good to find a reactor who does her homework and knows how to analyse with clarity and a good ear for interesting things, Thank you. This (in my opinion) is one of Home Free's greatest achievements, a miracle of harmonies, place changing and through it all Adam Rupp driving it on at a restless pace that fits the lyrics of the song. As you will see down below, Austin and Rob have just released Nessun Dorma. We would be grateful if you could have a professional look at it - and perhaps comment on how they handle the Italian.

I'll follow your advice, I'll listen to them and analyse, even if I'm a modern singer too, not an Opera singer but my Maestro is a classical tenor so I'll ask to him :)

The first singer,Tim Foust, is a true Basso Profondo with a 5 1/2 octave range. He has regularly sings a G1 live. He also has a natural chiaroscuro. For a treat, look up Tim Foust Pieces of Me. You will be amazed!

Have you heard Austin and Rob's version of Nessun Dorma yet? It is on Austin Brown's channel. They are not professional opera singers, but they both have degrees in music and have sung opera as part of that training. I think they did well, especially since they don't sing opera regularly.

The comment for Tim is "the bass is singing a soprano part!?" We get the tenor 1 and 2 singing up there, but the bass? Then the baritone comes in and sings the bass part. Home free is just showing off here.

Please check out Judas Priest DreamerDeceiver/ Deceiver off their album Sad Wings of Destiny. The lead singer is considered one of the top grandfathers of metal singing. Maybe Black Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio and their song Heaven and Hell. Studio version for both suggestions.Thank you!

I love this performance in it's own right, but you really did miss what makes it so special - the vocal range of the "tenor" who started. I urge you to react to Home Free's cover of "Brothers in Arms" immediately. The same "tenor" starts that song as well (although it's newer and he has shorter hair).
