See why we wanted you to react to the live in concert video of this song. And no, he didn't use any tricks with this one at the end. He's actually blown out many of speakers over the past decade, during many different songs. There's also a video of him doing just that in a outdoor concert, where he blows out the speakers. The other guys were all giving him a high 5 and laughing their butts off, so he continued to sing the rest of the song off Mic.

If you want to see a blown speaker then watch the home free concert in Morrison IL dated 8/19/15. It’s about 7:12 minutes in approximately. Hilarious. Abby zee posted it if that helps you find it. Let your friend know he doesn’t need any plug ins to blow speakers. They were live and they were outside. Check it out. 😊

lol! Yes, the one where he blows the speakers outside is hilarious! Same song, but when it blows and there's no mics, he keeps on singing while the other guys crack up completely! It is super fun. Try to watch sometime. Take care guys.

Aw, come on guys, it’s all Tim...he’s blown speakers during concerts with that voice. BTW, Tim is married as are Rob and Adam and Chance is engaged as well as Austin who is dating Amberly (all taken). No synth., auto tune, or instrument/sound effects outside of the guys voices...ya gotta believe in the impossible!

It's all Tim. Chance came in as baritone in 2016 when Chris left the group. Chance can do SOME low notes (to round out when Tim does a lead), but mainly stays in baritone range. Tim's range is an A5# to a F1b (the last note you heard here) & clearly with no trouble holding either one of them. He does a duet with Peter Hollens of Misty Mountains. Tim's low note is fondly referred to by us Home Fries as a dragon's breath chest growl note.

I'm quite sure they didn't allow 'help' on 'The Sing Off'. You should watch their performances on that show from 2013/14. Tim not only hit that note, he held it for something like 12 seconds.

Nope he did NOT have help with that last note, Tim has broken more than a few sub woofers with his bass.......need to react to their live version of Down To the Honky Tonk, live from Scotland or Ireland, Tim towards the end gets so low at one point you can't even hear him

nope just Tim being Tim no synth look at Tim's vibrations and see what he does to a mounted camera at a concert or Austin feeling the bass at a concert. I have been to 3 live shows and can tell you when they say feel the bass you feel the bass at one show i was at they made roof tiles fall off the celing trust me he can hit that note.

Chance can't sing as low as Tim does but he is a bass singer. Chance also can't sing as high as Tim. Tim dredging the baseboards there is why he's able to blow sound systems in most venues they play at like he did here. He's hit a low G sharp (I think it was a sharp anyway) quite a few times, which again just like he blew it at this show, he blows up sound systems

Chris is the best boxers brother I think, he’s the one who left the group, chance can do what Tim does but he didn’t replace Tim, Tim’s still in the group, Chance replaced Chris on the baritone part

While his bass is insanely mind blowing lyrics low to me the most incredible thing about him to me is his insane vocal range... I mean I would never expect for someone who can go that ungodly low to be able to cover over 5 octaves and be able to go well into tenor like he does in the song "snow globe" and other songs

Well, Chance DOESN'T go as low as Tim. Chance was a great addition to the group, and CAN do bass but not like Tim. And Tim has blown the sound system with this song in concert before. He can hit A0 and has even vibrated the ceiling tiles down in a theatre.

You've studied & learned a lot about the group & have a really good understanding of vocals. However, the correction, Chance is a bass/baritone. He doesn't have the full range as Tim. He doesn't go as deep nor have a high tenor range. He's a baritone/bass. Tim's is wider than his. Chance is a good singer but he doesn't flex up nor go into sub-harmonics as Tim. If Tim ever leaves (unsure if he did by this writing), they would need someone just as gifted. Geoff Castellucci, Avi Kaplan & Tim ALL blow out speakers with their low notes. It does happen & has.

And while you are somewhat right about chance he is technically a baritone who can flirt either bass but can go absolutely nowhere near where Tim can go with it he also can't go as high as Tim can either

Tim doesn’t need help! I thought you were believers! Tim’s gifts come straight from God to our ears. What he did is called a subharmonic. Basses can be trained to drop an octive down and hit those low notes. Tim happens to be a master at it.
