The Home Free guys recorded/released this video during the pandemic lockdown (the reason the other fellas are on the screens in the background). Austin Brown is the one singing lead in this video, as he does with quite a few, but Home Free doesn't have a designated "lead" singer. The guys consult together to decide who the best lead will be for each new song then they go with it--their lack of egos is one of the most endearing facts about this group (and likely why a group with such exceptional talent can continue to stay together)❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ Hope you'll investigate a lot of Home Free videos--they have a large video catalog--and I've not seen a bad one yet! Might I suggest "How Great Thou Art", "Understand", and their newest, "Might As Well Be Me", which is hilarious 😉

Austin did a fabulous job of this classic song. Loved Percy Sledge's version, but this was taken to another level. I think it is also better than Michael Bolton's version. And remember this was done during quarantine, so the guys weren't even together. The backing harmonies are great, along with Tim's bass. And Adam's vocal percussion is outstanding. Drummers have often commented on just how realistic his sound is. This is why these guys are my favorite a cappella group.

The lead singer is Austin Brown. He does solo music as well, and I recommend you visit his catalogue. As for how he was looking at the camera, that's because he had his wife sitting in the studio off screen, and he was singing to her.

People need to stop reviewing this version unless they have done the ORIGINAL PERCY SLEDGE VERSION. IT GIVES people the wrong impression that this is the original since your platform is to introduce things that aren't known... So therefore people are thinking that this is some kind of lost treasure. When in fact it's just ANOTHER COVER SONG. Two Black songwriters wrote this song, Percy Sledge was a black man who sang the song was famous during in the 60s...a revolutionary time, the ODDS of a song written AND performed wuth the background of 3 black men in tgat era was amazing. Yet here we are oooohhhing and aaaaaahhhing over a white singer doing A COVER of that song. Take this, however you want to take it... BUT you are shoving black music history backwards by promoting this. This is what people call GENTRIFIED BLUES ok? Its not enough tgat rock and roll was stolen in part as a root because its an offshoot of other kinds of music all of which ckne from Native abd black communities? Believe me, nobody loves a drum beat 🪘 like US! Stop this appropriation now... If you must show this at least so the first one... Why so aggressive? Reactors can choose what they react to, they are not college professors or lecturers, their work is not for "students" and they certainly don't need permission from you. Whatever your agenda is, you are doing yourself no favours by your unpleasant tone and language, and issuing commands in such a rude way. You clearly understand little of how music spreads and how it does not belong to one race or another. Just imagine how you would react if someone got angry because a black singer covered a song written by a white writer. Would you be talking about "appropriation" then? Just enjoy the f****** song and the gorgeous voice, FFS.
