The exterior door I bought doesn’t have those plugs. Might they be underneath that plastic strip?

How do you fix it if the screws are screwed in too much and won't turn anymore?

A million of these. I wish someone would talk about the depth of a threshold. Not the width. Not the height. The depth when it is not going over a support. Builder put PT wood there and now it's dry rotted.

What if the new door was installed but the threshold has a slight bow to it causing an air gap? It would seem that the best solution there is to correct the bow rather than adjust these, since I'm sure there is a finite amount of adjustment possible here. Thanks.

Sounds like the center area of the threshold is bowing up. If that's the case, try and reduce the center screws while raising the outside end screws. It's worth a shot to see if manipulating the adjustment could help close the gap. But we'd need to understand better if it's a gap on both sides of the door threshold, just one side, or is the bow not central on the door? And the threshold actually moves up and down more than you'd think.

Actually the center of the threshold is bowing down. So there is more light coming in the center than on the sides. The gap goes across the entire door, but it is very small on both sides, and larger in the middle. Maybe 1/16" on the sides and 1/8" in the middle? I can use the screw adjustments in the threshold to eliminate the gap, but am concerned that is just fixing the symptom and not the underlying problem. Is having a bowed threshold like this typical?

Thanks for the more detailed information. To answer your question, it is typical to have a threshold that needs adjusting throughout the year or over time as the seasons and weather change. Since we don't know how your door was adjusted originally or in the past, our advice is based on assumption and may not be helpful to your situation. However, if the threshold hasn't been adjusted since the door has been installed then adjusting it the way you described above to close the gap should be the best solution.

Will raising the threshold help to stop a slight water leak on the hinge side corner section? It's a new door so I'm thinking it just needs adjusting.

I have a door with those screws but it will not move up or down almost stripped the screws trying to raise it. Brand new door also.
