There's loads where I live. I don't use them, I still go to my "local" barber and will continue as long as he continues in business.

My local barber has been trading alone for over 30 years, his shop is always busy. He says he makes a living just about, he drives a 12 year old Volvo car and bought his old council house. In contrast a " Turkish barber" has 4 staff and he drives a nearly new Audi Q8, the shop is often empty. So go figure, definitely a money laundering enterprise.

Nigel… I don’t often disagree with you but take issue with the statement that most of the barbers are legitimate and above board. In reality the vast majority are in fact illegitimate and crooked.

I often wondered why so many High Street "businesses" managed to stay in business and employ so many staff without ever appearing to have many customers. Someone put me right on that score in 2013. I can't believe it has taken law enforcement so long to catch up.

I visited Caerphilly last week there was five Barbershops in one short street, I couldn’t believe it.

Last year there were 2 Turkish barbers in my village. Now there are over 100 and there are only 70 people living in the village and 8 of them are bald.

Another question that needs to be asked is how come loads of shops on the high street are closing because they cant afford to stay open due to overheads etc , yet these barbers shops who have very few customers dont appear to struggle ?

I happen to speak a little Turkish. I tried it out in the Turkish barber in our Main Street in Largs, Scotland, and I got a blank look. Now it makes sense.

A vape shop in my town, the owner turns up everyday in a different supercar. We have counted on average he gets 6 customers a day. They must be buying vapes by the lorry load just to pay for his cars. Obviously a front for something.

I assume that the illegal Brazilian guy has disappeared and that the owner has employed a taxpayer funded QC to plead his case.

I see Turkish Barbers everywhere now in Liverpool. 10 years ago there was barely any of these. You don't have to be a genius to work this out especially when you see the "managers" turn up to work in expensive sports cars.

The barber shops in Livingston always seem to have different staff in it every time i go by them

I'm a semi-retired Barber & haven't had an actual shop for 8 years, as I just do house calls now. The sheer scale of these shops appearing even here on the North Wales coast is unreal. Thankfully I no longer have to make a living from my trade, as it's now become more of a pass time until I reach state pension age in a couple of years time. However, I'm of the opinion that there's got to be a decent percentage of these 'barbers' that simply Must Be be Illegal. I've been thinking that this was just my take on this ongoing high street dominance of Barber Shops, but at least now the authorities are attempting to address the issue ~ If I were 30 years younger with our 3 kids still at home I'd be absolutely 'bloody' livid, & I do feel for long established local Barber's under these present circumstances.

These shops are networked in plain sight in every single town in Britain. Costly to get rid of for tax payers, yet again. Who is the criminal? The barber shops or the Criminals allowing this political policy to flourish?

If the home office did their job, we would not have these issues, I have seen a huge increase of barber shops population near where I life, 5 on one street. Nearly all run by Albanians, and only take cash. The home office knows exactly who these guys are and their status. Time for the HO to get serious and do the job they paid to do.

We have three opened in the last two years within 50 yards. I have only seen four or five people ever sitting in the chair. Most of the time standing outside smoking.
