➡️Mouth Ulcers are painful sores that appear on the inner lips, gums, tongue, roof of the mouth and throat.
➡️Occurs due to trauma/injury in the mouth~ called traumatic ulcers, like accidentally biting your cheek or tongue, burns while you are eating hot food like slice of hot pizza, accidentally sipping hot coffee, injury while brushing, constant rubbing against sharp/broken teeth or sharp edges of denture, Injury from a heated instrument during a dental procedure, irritation from a toothpaste/ a mouthwash.
➡️But sometimes, ULCERS happen WITHOUT any injury/trauma in the mouth. YOU wake up in the morning and suddenly feel a burning sensation at a point in the mouth, which grows into a red spot or bump that soon GROWS into a painful ulcer.
This form of mouth ulcer is called Aphthous ulcers. Also known as Canker sores.
➡️They have a tendency to reoccur. Sometimes 3-4 times in a year
WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN?

➡️ Also, these ulcers appear in 3 different forms- MINOR, MAJOR, HERPETIFORM.
💥MINOR APTHOUS ULCERS- small 1-5 ulcers, less than 1 cm in diameter. Resolves within a weeks
time.
💥MAJOR APTHOUS ULCERS- larger than 1cm in diameter, are deeper and can last for weeks to
months and leaves scars.
💥HERPETIFORM- small, deep and painful ulcers. 2-3 mm in size , Up to 100 aphthae can develop
simultaneously that tend to merge to form larger ulcerations.
🎯You can treat mouth ulcers at home.
✅Avoid spicy and sour foods
✅Drink plenty of fluids and stay hydrated.
✅Rinse your mouth with warm saline (salt) water 2-3 times/day.
✅Try Licorice (called mulethi in hindi). Add powder in warm water. Swish it in mouth and spit it out.
Do it twice for a week.
✅Drink Chamomile Tea- 2-3 cups/day.

✅Apply Coconut oil on ulcer. You can try oil pulling as well.
