Humanitarian ethics have resulted in more and more “successful” crossings . It is an awful thing to suggest, but only when are coastal defences turn away boats, and leave them to their fate, ( or maybe to the French coastguard to do their job )will this horrible trade in human trafficking cease. At present both France and our own coast guards ( Have you any idea just how tiny our coastguard service is? ) and the RNLI are actively supporting the trafficking gangs.
