And you are absolutely right she didn't get pregnant she's not out here in these streets and she's doing her thing positively We raised 7 kids within the suburbs and majority of them like the streets so don't be hard on yourself kids are going to do what they going to do no matter what their upbringing is God bless you and your family you both are doing a marvelous job . Hey girl, hey! I watch a lot of home update/ decorate videos. What I truly appreciate about your home is you don't have a bunch of STUFF. The fact that every corner, counter, or wall isn't crowded with all the good haul finds. I like the idea of a "tall slim cute tree", one beautiful lamp, or sconces. That room will definitely be set off once your wall panels are complete. Great video as usual!

My suggestion for that room is to do 3 large picture moldings behind the sofa. Put in 2 sconces, 1 in the left and one in the right molding. Putting a piece of artwork in the center molding panel is optional. I like the idea of the tall, slim tree on the left. To the right of the sofa, put a black pedastal with a white sculpture or bust.

Hi Amayi! For the front room; I would put a small chair(same style and color as the couch) beside the cabinet …this would balance out the room… I would not put a tree in either corner only because I feel the room needs one large & tall lamp on the opposite side of the cabinet….i feel that it should have like a brown or wooden base to balance out the brown in the beautiful cabinet… then add a little warmth to the table… Your home is beautiful no matter what💕

Yes, being a mom is not easy and being a parent there’s definitely definitely trying times. I had my daughter when I was out of my team. I literally just turned 20 so I completely understand but all we can do is pray and hope they make the right decisions and you’re right your kids are great And you’re looking good the working out and eating right is working for you ❤

Amayi you are a wonderful mom and you have beautiful children. My daughter and I have a very close relationship and growing up her biggest thing was that mouth of hers lol. She is now 26 and she lives on her own and I couldn’t be more proud of her. They have to find themselves and we are here to help guide them. It irks me how people always want to tell others how to run their homes and raise their children, continue doing what you’re doing. Instead of buying a new tree, what about a pedestal to put that one on it will give you the height you’re looking for. I liked your tall tree in the corner. And I like the idea of a chair in the other corner in front of the small picture. Your home is beautiful. Also, what about a hidden light in the planter - that’s what many are doing.

People really wrote that your daughter is disrespectful?!🫣 I remember when people came for me when I was a teenager and my mom said to those people, “wait until you have children and they are teen daughters then come talk to me then. “ I would NEVA comment negatively on someone’s child who is still a teen. Why? Because you reap what you sow. Always encourage our youths. I am not into that village thing with strangers when it comes to my children. Hello, just a thought, your tree needs a larger pot. The tree is a good size but bigger taller pot would look good because your other items are large. I would put the tree on the other side of the cabinet. The lamp you have is a reading lamp. I like one on each side of the sofa with the picture molding you are planning to do. Hi Maya! I totally understand mom guilt. One thing we must remember that we were young once and the best thing we can do is give our kids and adult kids advice. We must also understand that they are not perfect and they will make mistakes. We must continue to love them and be their friend but be their parent first. And yes I rather have the attitude than anything else too. Just remember that as she continues her journey to adulthood she will later realize just like my daughter did. I have 2 adult daughters who loves to hang out with me and we stay in touch even after their” teenage rages” I also have a teenage son.

the tree is competing with your unit put the tree in the corner on the right of soft by the window there much going on were you put it try putting picture on both side of the unit like two not tow big picture one on top of the other but move the other big picture by the other wall in corner by the window opposite the tree.

Hey Queen! I think an accent chair where you suggested would look lovely. Especially with the little lamp you tried over the sofa. It could really add some cool ambience to that area. I agree with the black pot and tall slim plant. But maybe not a round planter, more a curved squared or angular pot. The large art in the middle of the panelling on the wall would look so nice and complement the elegance of the room. I know you said before that you were over sconces. But maybe some slim/pole dark/black metal with soft strip lights on either side of the art might further elevate the ambience and create a warm and cozy space for more intimate gatherings. Honestly, I know you don't need my rambling ideas. You will design the perfect pieces and wow us all as usual. But thought I'd put my 2pence in anyway. you have great taste and have decorated your home so classy. It takes time to find the right pieces, so no worries. either lamp idea would work. The two lamps on each end would add symmetry, and the over arching lamp would balance the height of the cabinet on the other side. A tall slim tree would look great, and a side chair to add more seating and balance off the ottoman under the window. 3 full panels or 6 half panels behind the couch would look so custom. There are lots of ready made panels on the market to make diy easier. look up lifestyle with melonie graves on you tube. She did a man cave/cigar room for her husband. It looks like she hired a carpenter. very high end. Thanks for sharing your home/life/family 🙂

I love my Wednesdays my hubby goes to work, and I look at AP vlogs, I be in here acting like we’re besties. Our life style and families are so similar even down to our fur babies barking at the vacuum I ❤it.. Tell Sam her auntie said HBD😂🎉 If we were closer I’ll have to hook her up with my 19yr old because they’re both good kids😂 Yes a slim/taller planter or maybe 2 tall slim lamps and the art in the middle until u do the panels, even when you do the panel wall the light from the lamps will look nice ricocheting off the wall

The panel wall would complete the room. Hiring someone would be easier, of course more expensive. I have no DIY experience and pulled off doing a panel wall from watching a KZfaq video. The entire project with purchasimg material, tools. and paint was under $300.

First time commenting, and I felt I need to share my experience about teenagers. I'm also a mom of teens so I can relate. I remember the day we called a family meeting for my 20yr old and his sister who's 15 to call them out on their stinking attitude and refusing to do their chores. Did they not do a complete flip on us telling us how we " bully" them and basically telling us where to get off?! I've never been that hurt in my life😞 I catch a bus to work, so the next day I met this lady who was a complete stranger then, and she was venting about her 16yr old's attitude. Everything she said was as if she was relating my story word for word. That is when I realized that these teens are the same everywhere in the world, and I made a conscious decision that I will always do my part - whether they want to hear me at that time or rebel, bottom line is words are like a sword, the moment they are out you cannot reverse them. In saying that I mean whatever we do to call them to order, when they are sitting in their little quiet corner those words replay in their minds, and their conscience speaks to them if they are about to do something they know you had warned them against. Kids are very smart yet manipulative and want to get away with anything. All we need to do as parents is to never stop parenting - "nagging" as we may be. They're also still trying to find themselves. I can write the whole novel, so let me leave it here!😄. I'm reporting all the way from South Africa by the way. I love your channel. PS. One large floor lamp, paneling and the slim tree would look perfect in that room. Maybe some statement portrait over the sofa as well 😉

I think you can do the wall yourself I have faith in you. I’ve seen a lot of women do the ones that stick on they look very nice. Just do your measuring and mark it and buy you a level and you’re good to go. If you don’t like it take it off no biggie.

My suggestion …would be definitely adding the wall panels and add two side lamps. I would say maybe No to the tree since you have one on opposite side the adjacent room. Just my humble opinion.❤ Enjoyed the vlog . Love the positive advice . Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. 😊❤
