I know its a meme but it only looks that way because yes the smile isnt from real happy, its acting. 2 he has piercing blue eyes. Especially when iris shrinks cause its getting blasted by lights in his face.

Tbh I worry for him. Homelander is such an intense character to play and with how well he plays him, I'm certain he's had to immerse himself in the philosophical idealism a character like Homelander would have. Actors proclaim Joker is a tough character to play, and hell even Tom Holland had to step away from acting because certain roles were putting him in an extremely dark place mentally. Homelander is pretty much the peak of needing to be in a dark place mentally to pull off the character well. Antony Starr seems practically indistinguishable from Homelander irl in terms of his mannerisms and I know it's pretty funny, but I find it also a bit concerning in terms of his mental health. Hopefully he's doing good!

Gotta give props for writers creating the story and dialogue for the character, just you know that Antony is the reason you can't wait to see the character on screen. He brings the character to life in such a convincing way and genuinely makes you feel dread in many moments.

There's a difference between both. Anthony is probably still getting used to being recognized as one of the most talented actors of our time, while Homelander was designed in a lab to be a spokesperson of one of the most influential companies in the world. Both feel awkward for different reasons, but awkward nonetheless.

Few have encapsulated a role so much that they stepped above only being known for one thing, but people literally find it difficult to distinguish between the actor's role and the actual person playing the actor. I imagine anyone passing him up in public would be stricken with fear almost immediately. The only other person I can think of is Giancarlo Esposito, but he has multiple roles that he is well known for, and this was largely during season 3 of breaking bad back into the late 2000s. This is something that needs to be researched, guess I have a new paper idea
