As a Dominican who has witnessed Two major Cat 5 hurricanes. One in 1979 hurricane David, and Maria in 2017. Dominica was totally devastated. But praise God we were resilient, and built back our Country. I pray that the people find the strength, and courage to go through this trying times.

I know. They will recover. But so many islanders haven't experienced a direct hit from a hurricane so many are still not taking it seriously. Simple things like driving several more long nails in those wooden roofs.

Last night I was given a dream of seeing me with someone of your country in a boardroom and I've asked her if she has shared her issues with the man who was leading the meeting and she nodded yes to me. And I've heard myself saying aloud...GOD WILL RESTORE JAMAICA. I've got this dream while I did not even know about this destructive hurricane...the Bible says God will once again shake the earth and heaven. Anything that can be shaken will be and only what can't be shaken will remain. God is highlighting the wrong foundation for us man to repent and to return back to Him and He will restore us with the right foundation built on His word.. It's time for us to return to Him... yes...I live in perpetual fear each time I hear about a disturbance in the Atlantic. I live in Louisiana and just a couple of years ago, I lost part of the roof, a huge magnolia tree fell in front of the house. It was a nightmare to recover. It is so hard as every where is impacted. The heat becomes unbearable. There is no warm food to eat or a comfortable place to sleep in. No gasoline. You need cash as all credit card machines are not working. Fights every where as everyone is stressed and jumping the line. I had to beg the gas station to please give me gas as they were closing. I am grateful for their kindness. Yes, it is hell on earth. You have to experience it to know.

@@Hadassah-gk1cm - The French islands (Martinique, Guadeloupe, St Barth and St Martin) are always getting help from the French Government and the EU when they get hit because they`re part of France and the European Union. African people are well aware of them being a multi-racial people but still calling them names like "colonized slaves...etc..." and are mad about getting their independence and even fighting for that even harder than those islanders themselves! Now look! Many of those ex-British islands that are destroyed by the hurricane are inhabited by black people only and a few of them are mixed even so Africans are totally silent, there ain`t not even a word from them! That`s why im dead sure that all of this troubles come from the Lord trying to show those people their true identity! They are black but definitely not Africans! The French islands, the USA and England shall soon come to help! God bless our brothers and sisters in Christ in these days of pain and sorrow!

There are many Americans who have dealt with 🌪️⚡💧🌧️. Down Burst. Wind storm. Lost 🚗🛻🚐🏡 jobs and even lives. Many of the residents begin on their own doing whatever they can to start making things better before the government even began to get involved. All politicians will talk talk talk. CONGRESS will take it time. But the people have to work together and begin doing the best that they can do. Difficult job yes but remember that this is your area. Start to make plans. Do nothing and nothing will happen. Been on that road a few times my life time. Its not easy. It takes time.

Absolutely Climate change is real. I don't care for the politics of it. I don't want to play games. I have lived in Louisiana for over 50 years and I have seen first hand how more frequent these storms are and how more destructive they have become lately. Please DO NOT minimize my pain. if I could afford to leave Louisiana I would!!! I have suffered so much in the last 25 years!! Storm after storm. Each time I think I am going to die because of the sound and strength of the winds. My weather radio going off each time a tornado is in the area as an offshoot of the hurricane. I don't care what your politics is or if you believe whatever but these storms are getting worse!!! I don't care to know what your belief is on that. Come live in Louisiana near the coast and see for yourself! So many fanatics out there forcing their beliefs on others. They like to use religion. They should be out there helping!

I feel the people pain because l went through it with Hurricane David in 1979 and most recently Hurricane Msria 2017. When we were told Dominica will never recovered after Hurricane Maria with good and great government we recovered in less than three years. I pray that the people of St. Vicente and Grenada will. Just pray and trust in God help will come and you all will recover.

Two things can be true at once: Yes, the roofing needs to be of a higher quality. However, the island was under a category 5 hurricane -- the worst possible -- therefore structural damage is largely unavoidable in such an event per online resources on the matter.

Just a couple weeks ago we were in Canouan, and St. Vincent, and Carriacou. We went through the hurricane in Grenada. Nothing compared to what these folks endured. We so loved the residents we met and our heart breaks for them now. We hold you in our prayers and will look for the best way to help.

My heart goes out to all who suffered from beryl this should be a world wide rescue and rebuild for these people who desperately need help so I hope all governments from all countries can come together to help them🙏💔

My prayers are with you all,I know what you all are going through, I was in one of America's worst hurricanes in 2005 hurricane Katrina.i lost everything also.i pray you all can get food, water, provisions, medicine and everything else you need to get back on you all feet.🙏

Listening from Guyana .Switch to aluminum zinc sheets .Don't nail down but screw down .Some roofs were not bolted to the perimeter beam .The engineering section of Government must have house designs for the island that people can follow

It is heartbreaking for the residents and the hundreds of cruising boats which were also caught up in this. Help has arrived already with other cruising yachts coming up from Grenada with water, food, babies nappies etc and 7 tons of goods from a German supplier have arrived and are being distributed. I hate to see them weep as they are jormally so strong and cheerful but by now they are receiving the help they so desperately need

So sorry to my fellow neighbors. Living in Trinidad we thankfully got missed but I’ve been in 13 hurricanes the worst was Luis when I was growing up in St. Maarten. The winds were coming from every direction. Gusts were cat 5. Sounded like you’re standing 5 ft from a speeding freight train. May the tiny islands of the Grenadines eventually repair, rebuild and renew.

Not all the Caribbean the same...And also, a force 5 hurricane is strong enough to destroy anything ( Airports, roads, bridges...all kinda infrastructures ) even a little wind in London causes bricks to fall from the walls and being spread in the streets!

This is avery sadden event in the lives of the peple of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. My prayers go out to God for you. It is very hard,and only God can truly identify with your pain. He knows exactly how you are hurting. However, don't loose hope . Keep on crying out in faith to our Heavenly Father. God is able. Help will come. I believe theses contries will come out bettet than ever before. Trust God. It may be able for me to say this to you but our only hope is in God. May our loving Father look upon St. Vincent and the Grenadines and restore each life to the fullest. Thank You Lord, in the name of Jesus.

Father have mercy on d population of d earth. I hate when people n Christians say we will pray fr God to help these people. It don’t work like that people of d earth . The Father wrk through us , if 9 billion of us give 1 dollars each to d storm victims imagine how greatly that will help then that is how God’s wrk through us who believes So let’s us stop pray fr God to help n we do d helping then Gods is working through us all Come ppl of this earth one dollar from each person who have God in their hearts. That how God want us to wrk by helping each others CAs he dwells in us so we got to do what we all are praying fr him to do

My exact thoughts. These people like to sit behind their screens and just send thoughts and prayers. People need urgent help..... food, clothes, money, medicine, sleeping bags, first aid kits, blankets etc. I believe in prayers but I also believe in taking action and donating whatever I can to help. I donated some money and I hope I can send some more. This breaks my heart.
