With that is depression, disparity, loneliness, hopelessness, feeling lost, being penniless, not having any support, ect., ect. So when you give someone suddenly 500 or $1,000 it’s like a shot in the arm. They can AFFORD suddenly to get a job! They can get some new pants & shirts, underwire & t-shirts, shoes & socks, a belt, a coat, depending on the season but maybe some boots, a hat, gloves & a scarf, an umbrella, maybe some new glasses, a haircut, a bus pass, ID, a pack, and maybe a medical card. This could total $500 right here. But then you’ll need the cost of lunches for about 2 weeks until you get your first pay check. All this is why I think $1000 is better than $500 bc it can be costly to go back to work but it’s also good to know have back up money in your pocket & a little safety net. While not everyone may need all this there may be those things they will need & suddenly they can get back to work which can get them out of homelessness at first mentally & then eventually physically.

Growing up in foster care I faced homeless ness throughout my life too and can say they’re some of the bravest kindest souls out there and yet the exterior can sometimes be hard because they’re just surviving we all trying out here and we got to be kind to each other to make it, peace and love to you, hope you find your stability and balance too

I always give something to a homeless person. Even when they don’t ask. I have found that very often they’re more touched by someone who treats them with respect and speaks to them kindly. I once read a quote that made me more aware of other people’s situations. “The only justification we have for looking down on someone is when we stoop to lift them up”
