i was just in rehab with helaina. shes doing great and working the program.

I will get her a plane ticket and pay for any rehabilitation she needs myself. I will also help her get an apartment or whatever for as long as she follows through with being clean. Let me know how to do this. I have the means to do so and my heart is breaking for her.

My mom was hard on the streets for years, she would binge, call me in the same shape as Helena, clean up sleep it off and then disappear. Finally she went to Oregon and stayed with family on the mountain it seemed to help getting further away from the streets and people. I've watched many of these videos but helaina really got in my feels. I wish you the absolute best helaina, chin up

I saved a junkies life who Od'ed a couple years ago. he was sitting in a chair with his eye's wide open, I did not realize he just died and I was leaving walking out the door and he did'nt say by and that's when I realized something was not right. I had to pick him up and put him on the floor and called 911 and did cpr to him till the government showed up and gave him narcan stuff that brought him back. The whole experience really messed me up for a long time. As a surfer, I don't know anything about it so he was lucky i figured out what was happening in front of me... Now a day's, he has his sht together and just got a new car and took a girl out for the first time in 10 years last week and he is doing good. He go's out everyday now and joy rides in his car and volunteer's at the shelter.

Thank you for these videos and for having a heart and letting these people talk. It breaks my heart that people are stuck out there. If she cleans up she will look like that picture. Its not to late. It is never to late for anyone to get the help that they need!!!! God bless you for all that you do. When she said this is the last of my life.... it hurt me so bad.

Literally crying at work right now . She reminds me of me so much when I was out there . I wanted to get clean SOOOO badly but didn't know where to begin. I hated my life and hated using but my habit was a monster and didn't see a way out . I have been clean since 2012 and I'll be 50 in Aug. Life is amazing and have so much now . I want her to experience how beautiful life can be. She breaks my heart and would love to find her some help. A stranger helped me all those years ago. And omg when she said the things most ppl take for granted. I remember being jealous of ppl driving to work or going food shopping. I had just wanted to be normal . My son has struggled with addiction for 15yrs..ive enabled him until recently.he is now homeless full of poison ivy,and blames everyone for the position he is in he's 32.i refuse to give him money,but will let him shower at home,eat then I watch him walk away.when I let him shower here just this week he stole $100.00 and denys it.my heart breaks for him and this woman breaks my heart because she's crying for help.i pray someone comes her way to help.lord hear her cry..

As a current addict, I totally feel this and what she’s saying about it being a sickness, yes we might have made the first choice to use, but it is a disease. Mental illness plays a big role in my addiction, bi-polar and DID I can say my drug of choice keeps it all suppressed for me. Am I happy? No but I can also function. I’m sure that doesn’t make since to a lot of you and addiction is probably one of the hardest things to even try to describe.

I’m watching this after watching her first interview. I’m in tears. Sadly, she is probably not going to make it very long without dialysis if her kidneys are failing. I hope she gets the help she needs. The pictures from just a short time ago are such a drastic change. She is beautiful...and she has a beautiful spirit. She would make an incredible counselor. I’m immensely proud grateful and have the most admiration for Mal and Mark (soft white underbelly) and Frank (morales over money) I do think what things would have been like if folks were able to get this same footage in the 80’s with the crack epidemic. Both have ravaged lives and the ripple effect from both opioid and crack epidemics are still making waves in devastating catastrophic ways. Do you have the ability to help these folks with Medically Assisted Treatment? How many methadone or Suboxone clinics are in the Kensington area?
