It only take about 3 hits, to bust into halve, a big round log, at 17" long. That the only way to fly! 👍👍 HANDS FREE SPLITTING. I do like the 8 concert block stand i made to. at 2 blocks high, 4 in front, 4 in at the back wheels

Thanks for the reply. I took a look at the pictures and now I understand how it's done. The tee hinge is ingenius! I'm running mine on top of an old wooden crate, but I think a stand like yours is in order. I've been using short pieces of 4x4 between the ram and the log for deeper splitting of 16 in. pieces and to shorten the stroke. Only problem is they get busted up after a while. I'm going to try the band clamp method you used to shorten the stroke. Thanks again for the info.

I have the Ryobi version and love it. Used it so much that I need to replace some minor parts (e-replacement parts); I can run this thing at midnight in my garage and no one is bothered by it. LOVE IT.

To make it more effective I would put a inerchangable three star or four star spliter at end make the job faster and effective

I take a diamond wedge and bust them up. So i can pick them up. To set on my splitter. Yes i love my Powersmart electric log splitter.

I just made a new stroke limiter (from 1-1/2 in. ABS drain pipe). When I cut the side opening, I made it slightly narrower than the diameter of the ram so it snaps over and doesn't need the hose clamp to hold it on. Of course, this doesn't solve the problem of needing more travel for stuff that doesn't want to split. I've tried the 4x4, but they don't last long. I'm still working on a better solution.

I originally rigged it with 2 pedals. I have just built a stand for it to bring it up to truck bed height. On the stand, I made an improved single pedal arrangement. The thread in the description has pictures of the original two pedal setup and the new pedal

I have the Ryobi splitter that is similar to this model. I'm curious how you rigged up the foot pedal to control the motor switch and the piston lever. I'm interested in making one for my machine to make it hands free. Does one pedal control both or do you use separate pedals?
