My simple recipe for making totally biodegradable jelly fishing bait. These fishing lures are easy and quick to make at home.
Basic recipe:
equal parts glycerine, gelatine and water. Then add in colouring and flavour.
This homemade fishing bait recipe is ideal for sea fishing and has a black lug worm flavouring and scent additive.
Items used:
gummy worm mold - amzn.to/3BqHwzV
measuring spoons - amzn.to/3uURfgJ
vegetable glycerine - amzn.to/3sO9aTw
beef gelatine - amzn.to/3HVa4nP
black lug worm additive - amzn.to/3oUYnWF
More recipes coming soon so follow the channel and see more options - and how these jelly baits fish.

You may be able to economize 1-2 scoops of your beef gelatin and add a lot more flavor and scent as well as "Tensile strength" to your worms by using recycled Fish head stock :) I only just realized this yesterday, but I haven't put it to the test yet, so feel free to play around!

that sounds like a good idea. I'll have to have a search around for the fish head stock.

It’s actually four tablespoons of “water” if you include the coloring and flavoring you added. I wonder if the actual water amount was reduced to three tablespoons TOTAL if the lures would last longer before disintegrating.

If you have a Hong Kong Market near you, they carry a strong flavorful fish sauce made just from fermented fish, salt, and water (Mam Nem is the one I have). It has a solid, not clear, brown-green color to it that resembles wild fish camouflage. If you want to add a water-based scent AND get rid of your lures' transparency you might try using that. Hong Kong Market is awesome for all the unfamiliar (squid jerky, candied fish) and delicious foods and sauces they carry. Don't forget to check out the contents of their freezers! ❤

Güzel çalışma. Denizde kesinlikle iş yapacak büyük bir fikir. Berkley gulp camo veya blood bomba etkisi yapacağını düşünüyorum. Ve bende yapacağım en kısa zamanda. Aroma olarak balık yağı karides yağı kullanılabilir. Teşekkürler

Thanks for this!!! I just can't bring myself to buy soft plastic fishing worms. Potential seems high for killing fish that eat it (Either ones you release or ones that eat pieces that come off the hook) and the waters don't need any more plastic pollution. So looking for a homemade alternative. Yours look to have a fairly soft giggly movement and an hour+ in saltwater is great (I'm only fish fresh lakes for bass and trout). I wish you video had way more views so more folks would switch to food grade baits. ???- Have you tried a lower bloom strength gelatin for more wiggly worms? Or, if you know, would that make them too weak to stay on the hook? I'll check out your other videos. Thanks again!

if you use commercial grade 240bloom or above they hold up pretty well. I've had upto an hour before they fall off the hook. I've invested in some plastic moulds to pour into and those work really well. Normal use can be around 20 - 40 minutes. I think the secret is to use commercial grade gelatine rather than the stuff you buy in the shops which are around 70 bloom strength. Easy to buy commercial grade on ebay and amazon. I've done a test video at kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z5lpo72qnJOcf6M.html

@@tacklekingUK Sure! You may do that, or, as I was thinking, you can recycle your fish heads, if you eviscerate when you clean. Good luck, happy hunting mate!

do you still them, how do you like them ? whats the best flavour ?
@tacklekingUK
@tacklekingUK Жыл бұрын
Yes I still use them. THey are great as a back up option when I can not get fresh bait. Thay don't catch as much as fresh bait but do catch. Black lugworm is the best flavour for sea fishing. I must do an update video on this as it's a popular video. Thanks for the comment.

@@tacklekingUK what do you think about size and shape of jelly worm does it matters?
@tacklekingUK
@tacklekingUK Жыл бұрын
Depends on where you are fishing and what fish you are targetting. I tend to sea fish on tidal rivers so I have quite a large moulded bait and I tend to go with yellow or red colours because the estuary is quite muddy water. But I've used small worm moulds for freshwater fishing.

the recipe is in the description. Equal parts glycerine, gelatine and water - so 1 cup of each. then add colour and flavour to your prefered level. Make sure your flavouring does not have salt as this will degrade the gelatine.

How long do they survive underwater
@tacklekingUK
@tacklekingUK Жыл бұрын
Hi, I think it very much depends on the grade of gelatine you use. Salt easily dissolves gelatine so a lower bloom will dissolve quicker than a commercial grade. I use 250bloom commercial grade gelatine and fishing in tidal waters I can get up to 90 minutes of hook time. I normally change more frequently, but I would do that with fresh bait anyway. thanks kevin

The only problem I cam across with gelatine based worms are they melt on a very hot day.

Yep, this a problem. Keep them in the shade is the best option and never leave them in a hot car ,😃
