Well, from the looksof things, the changes you made were spot on, the gears all worked as intended and the whole buggy just seemed more settled and drivable. When DIrtgear was talking about having his buggy slide out when following you and how he couldn't go any faster through the rollers, the CBR buggy never looked like it was struggling despite going just as fast. Overall, this is my favourite build of yours, yes it has taken a long time to get right but you have a machine there that exists to make people smile and if it was mine, you'd have to force me out of it at gunpoint at the weekends.

You know what buddy I think that you’ve finally cracked it, the buggy looks quick, nimble and very capable indeed, the suspension soaks up the bumps incredibly well by the looks of it and it’s obvious from watching that you have become really comfortable with the way in which it performs. Top job matey 👌🏻

I was going to say something similar. I noticed his driving is much better and the build quality might have played a huge part in that. I wasn’t yelling at my screen to get on the damn gas this time.

7:40 That's inertia of the rear wheels what makes the car nose dive. When you leave throttle it starts engine braking and slows down the rear wheels which creates momentum that tries to to rotate the whole car the same direction as the wheels. The opposite will happen if you try to full throttle midair - momentum will turn the frame against accelerating wheels
@joeljakobsson7516
@joeljakobsson7516 2 жыл бұрын
Maybe set the rebound a bit slower also?
@winstonsmith313
@winstonsmith313 2 жыл бұрын
I noticed this effect watching monster trucks. They can fine tune their rotation in the air when they do long jumps by using accelerator and brake. Of course, the wheel/tire of these rigs weighs about 800 lbs each. So the total rotating weight is almost 1/3 the 10,000 lb total weight of the “truck”.

Bravo, that thing absolutely shreds dude. I was concerned with the rear trailing arm that you would have some torsional body roll. Most people run a big old sway bar on the rear with that setup. That thing did awesome though

@jefffranks6213 2 жыл бұрын
You're a hundred percent right got to stay in the throttle until you're in the air. Trust your suspension you did a great job on it You have plenty of front travel to catch you.

That machine is working so well. Maybe now that you have the chassis working well and know the drive ratio that works best you could ditch the second gearbox, lower the engine and fit an electric reverse. This would make it lighter, more stable, more reliable and easier to maintain. Another suggestion would be to quicken the steering ratio.

Not mocking your bravery or driving skills, but seeing how much you want and need both hands on that steering wheel…*This is holding you back from shifting that machine as often as you could up/down thru the gears. (It’s a problem that needs resolving).

Epic man! I'd be scared to death of the steering on that thing. I'd have to beef it up. Not the springs but the arms itself. I'm old. I don't need a steering rod snapping at 50 or 60 on a curve but what a custom build. Yes stay in the gas. Don't let the jumps scare you. I don't know how and it could be suspension travel but it was definitely keeping the front closer to the ground on the jump which in a way could be a good thing for control. This is like the 3rd time i've subscribed to this channel. It's a battle lately staying subscribed to some of you guys channnels. Great job. Keep up the good work. Stay safe. God Bless.

You're right about hitting the throttle off course. You can compensate quite a lot by doing that. I'm speaking from mountainbiking experience though, where I don't have that luxury. When hitting jumps on a full-sus mtb, the rebound setting can make all the difference. Just saying it might be a contributing factor;)

It's still not as good as an expensive setup like Fox shocks or Elka long travel setups.. But it still works good enough for what it is. He should let a KrossKart driver do a few laps on this thing to really show what it can do. He still doesn't know how to ride right yet.. He's doing ok, but he's staying in a lower gear and high reving the engine much more than he should be. (he'll learn eventually, he's still young)
