Its been 2 weeks on your recipe with Holistic Vet Blend and my two over weight cats love it. No more dry or canned food. I mix it up with sardines or salmon. So much easier than I thought. Thank you.

Boil egg , chicken chunks and minced lamb..cut the egg and chicken add put everything in a bowl..smash and mix until everything turns in a semi paste..and half spoon of the broth (the water in which everything was boiled) mix again and serve!! Trust me it makes good food for a prego cat!!

I hope my cats like it. They're so picky since they were kittens. I've tried everything to get them to stop dry food but nothing works!!! I'll try this recipe. I hope they like it😢

You can try different proteins or try drizzling some tuna or sardine juice (from canned in water). Offer a few teaspoons here and there. Try mixing it with whatever they are eating. Dr. Dody struggled for years to come up with this formula, as her cats are very picky. They love it now!

What kind of broth did you use??? My kitty got diagnosed with feline idiopathic cystitis and from my research, switching off of a dry food diet can help so i want to try this more hollistic diet

Nice recipe. I would just feed it raw and not cook it though. More nutrients, more natural.

There are a few studies that show feeding raw may strengthen a cat's immune system, and many pets have done very well on raw diets. However there are also many studies that show pathogens in raw food, and each individual pet and their family has different needs. For this reason, many veterinarians are opposed to raw feeding. I lightly cook what I feed to my cats. AVMA does not recommend feeding raw diets due to the risks of exposure to zoonotic risks (spread of Campylobacter or Salmonella) to humans. Use proper hygiene, especially if there are immunocompromised individuals in the household.

@@HolisticVet thank you for your reply 😊 Yes I have done my research thoroughly (I am autistic and as such have a tendency to be obsessive) and I believe raw feeding is the best I can give for my cat. It’s what they have eaten since they first emerged in the wild after all. I do follow a careful hygiene routine to avoid spread of harmful pathogens. Anyway it’s a great recipe and I appreciate your feedback (no pun intended!)

@@bobcatbigpaws5597 Just maintain good food hygiene and there will be no issue. The health risks are only for humans, as cats are equipped to handle them. Raw meat is their natural diet which they are perfectly evolved for.

Same question, I have the cookbook but it doesn’t say whether the feedings (for my cat’s weight would be 3/4-1 c) are for once a day or multiple times a day. Could you please clarify that part for me? Thank you so much for the great vet blend! My cats love it and I have been feeding twice a day. I usually have leftover food after feedings so I am thinking it is too much maybe???

After cooking, the prepared diet can be refrigerated for 4 days. If feeding raw, the diet should be frozen in servings for up to 4 months and thawed out for each feeding thereafter. Cooked food can be refrigerated for up to 6 months.

Okay but how long does that last for 2 cats, and how should it be stored? My cats wont eat anything that's been in the fridge or nuked. Just takin notes.

I really do not like feeding cats dry food though. It really is terrible for them. So many issues with dry. If you are going to feed processed food please make a transition to canned. My cats prefer a pate texture, so I blend it until it smoothens. If they want chunky, blend less or not at all. You can vary the amount of water added. You can also cook bite-sized pieces of meat.

@@sandy2au918 Serving size depends on how much your cat weighs and its activity level. You should ask your vet how much to feed your cat, 2oz once a day is not enough for an average size cat

Your list of ingredients can be found in animal meats 🤦 the whole point of feeding your cat whole foods is so you dont have to feed them processed things like that 🤦 Its like you put a chair on a treadmill. You switchee to a whole food diet for your cat but managed to find a way to over process it and store it for extended amounts of time You went full circle

If you want to go ahead and give your cat kidney problems with all that sodium, you’re giving them out of the sardines and chicken broth, go ahead and do it but every vet we’ve ever heard of it tells you not to give your cats any type of sodium products so you must not be a good vet tech
