Hello Sara. Thank you for another wonderful video. Your soap looks beautiful, I have coconut milk frozen ready for a batch of soap and I am going to be using your recipe. I have just purchased and downloaded a copy of your Ebook fresh soap recipes, the booklet is truly amazing. Recently I also had to turn a batch of cold process soap into hot process for the same reason you did (thanks for keeping that "fail" in your video. I mentioned a little while ago that I don't really like making hot process soap, but it beats having to get rid of a batch and I know many people who love the rustic look. @@tellervo. Thank you. It really is. The soap is so smooth and shiny and the lather is so rich. You should try it. I did a 50% water replacement with frozen rice milk. The lye mixture gets really thick. I used my stick blender to mix up the lye incase there was any chunkiness. It actually didn't speed up trace very much. I just soaped cold. I was able to split the batter and mix 2 clays in for a drop and hanger swirl. You really should try it. I know you made a rice soap before and the lather was awesome. Hey hon. Nice videos as always. Since that you mostly uses essentials oils in your videos. Have you ever use this additive that is all natural and great for our skin also, it's call kaolin clay? It also holds the fragrance scent of the essential oils to stay and last a very long time in the soaps. I make my own products too and i tried making essential oil soaps with and without the kaolin clay and i can tell you that the soap with the clay scent lasted forever, compares to the one without the clay the scent started to disappear after a few months after curing 4-6 weeks. Have you ever use it in your soaps before? And if yes, how did you like it? If no, why haven't you tried it yet?
@tellervo.7 ай бұрын
Thank you! Yes I have tried it and I do like it in soap☺️ I should use it more. I've thought about doing a test with and without to see how well it works to anchor the essential oils😊

I really like soaps made with aloe vera because of how they feel on the skin. Also gel soaps because they feel so luxurious☺️ not sure about a least favorite soap, i'll have to think about it... One thing i don't like is if a soap is too exfoliating and scratchy😄

Here's a thought i came up with because i crave for a natural vanilla scented soap and i can't afford the co2 extract yet! The crazy thing is that i make vanilla extracts and one of them is glycerine based, for those who don't want alcohol in their food and i was thinking i could use that in soap. That being said, do you think it might heat up the soap too much? What would be the amount you would use (just a wild guess) / 1 kg of oils? :)) thanks for the content! I adore your work!
@tellervo.7 ай бұрын
That's interesting! Honestly i'm not sure it would work, if the scent would even survive. As long as you soap at a low temp i think it should be ok. It's difficult to say how much to add, maybe start with 1-3% of the oils, that's my wild guess😀 And thank you!
@mordread17 ай бұрын
I just did it. Went all in and used 8% ( used only 300g of oils) :)) the glycerine solution incorporated well and did not accelerate the trace at all. I will be back with updates about the smell (or the lack) of it in a few weeks :))
@mordread17 ай бұрын
Ok, it makes no sense to wait more for it. No, it did not survive at all :)) one note though, the vanilin will slowly give a caramelish hue to the soap:)
