Yes, or you tie out the free corners
@LeahClark-pk2lv2 ай бұрын
This may be silly, but why do you only mark the thread at 70% of length of poles?
@engineerable2 ай бұрын
So that the elastic cord will stretch the remaining 30% to keep the poles tight.

Would the screw-in anchor umbrella bases work in place of the umbrella pole bottoms?
@engineerableАй бұрын
@@blessedandbeautifullife Possibly, but depends on the strength of your tent poles and the wind. They don't support the tent poles above ground like the umbrella poles do.
@blessedandbeautifullifeАй бұрын
Sorry for asking a million questions, Do you think this larger sized canopy would work with the dry bag cord anchor method (with the cord tied between the two poles at the bottom) vs. Using the umbrella poles (I don't have access to foraging these)?
@engineerableАй бұрын
Using the anchor and cord method is patented by Shibumi, although I've been told was in use by people's of the Pacific islands for a very long time. That is why I show an alternative method of using the umbrella poles to support the shade.

I just have two 14 feet tent poles. How can I attach them?
@engineerable2 ай бұрын
Shorten them so they are 20-25 ft and connect them together. 14 ft poles will be smaller in diameter and more flimsy than poles intended for 20-25ft lengths.

I really can’t stand people like you seriously I mean yes you have a video. Yes, you’ve listed all the things but like. It’s easy …..first of all you’re maniac. This is so complicated and ingenious at the same time, but the average person doesn’t have all these things laying around and there is some aero dynamics and science involved, this is out of the ordinary and amazing ! Tie out the rear corner edges. It only takes a small breeze to keep this aloft. Haven't had a no breeze day at the beach yet

At the beach?
@freyn112 ай бұрын
Fair question, I have some similar to this and there's an anchoring option. On the corners have Para cords that could be used to anchor down. It becomes a tent and yes not all beaches get a breeze all the time.
