I've been sewing since I was a kid which gives me great insight to what you did...Omg.😲 Amazing job!!! I'm saving your video to refer to when I go about creating one of these for my husband. He's a big guy...a 2 wool blanket guy! Love all of the pockets and the creativity as well as usefulness of the facemask. You could hand stitch small elastic pieces under the eyes and around the neckline to help it fit the curvature of your face. Just size it then pull the elastic a bit as you stitch. Love the leather cuffs and useful bands with the clip. But most of all I get why you'd never want to do another. Well done! The oil cloth shoulders and back cover are absolutely genius!

Ananorak like that would cost you a king's ransom to buy. Nice, really nice. I'm always impressed by what people make for their own use because it wasn't available to buy or was too expensive. You had a need for something so you went ahead and found out how to make it and made it. When you make something yourself you know it inside out and what all the faults are but no one else does. If it goes wrong, you fix it because you made it, you didn't buy it. Great stuff!

I'm a sewer and I fell it looks really good. I made one out of just flees when I was hiking a lot, I put pockets etc. all kinds of goodies on and still have it, I also made the pants to go with it. Has kept me warm now for some 15 yrs. I like the shoulder and sleeves. Good job!

These are awesome ideas. Some of the best additional features I've ever seen added to any homemade anorak/boreal shirt. Especially love the oilcloth capelet and the shoulder pockets. I've been planning on making a wool blanket anorak myself for quite some time, and now I'll definitely be including a few of these things when I do.

If nobody has mentioned it beford I believe the color is called "loden", it's a green brown or a brown green....take yer pick lol. I personally like the color....its not too light or dark and is just drab enough to blend in with most natural foliage

Nice design. Construction looks top notch. You can always use some cheap cotton blankets to test patterns. One nice thing is that you can go practical, not fashion statement. Maybe I should start looking for a wool blanket. My Mom could sew and not knit, and her friend could knit but not sew. So they traded. I would try sewing my own. Nice tomahawk. My brother used a carpenters hatchet instead of a hammer for framing. Thank you for the video.

Instead of the oilskin parts, could have made a leather anorak a half size bigger to go over top…. Layering is your friend. That is my plan…. been planning it for about twelve years lol. Hopefully I get the leather anorak made before summer, as I’ll be in Alaska for at least two months and my land there is coastal and gets cold even in the warm months…

Really great job! The mirror is ingenious. The hood is amazing. I also love how you incorporated the oiled canvas. One thing about making the gear yourself is that it helps you realize why some of the store bought stuff is priced the way it is. Think about how many hours it took you, then add cost for material and time to design.

That's a roofers hatchet. Great repurpose. I was thinking of something similar for the shirt in regards to the oil cloth that you did on yours. I love what you did. There is just so much common since in your design, I just had to comment on it as for the cold weather coming here in Oceanside California that is not our problem it's 3 hour drive to some snow if we even get any at all but last year was great lots of rain and snow . P S don't let this be your last project let those wheels turn and make more you have the common since approach which is lacking in most manufacturing. Now follow your comments on over heating come up with a fall pull over. Take care I'm in the middle of making 2 Tomahawk handles as we speak . Good luck .

I wished thay make them like this too love the 1800 Mountain man coats with the cape on the Shoulders 99 % one you look at on line are to long in the cape I have Johnson wool mills jacket love it don't cover the Shoulders. At all been thinking of doing this to it now i see what it look like like to take it off and on alot in side and out 15 times a day at work cold snow frock look with cape
