It's really easy to do if you have a food processor to chop things up. Otherwise it's a little more work unless you have only big fish 🤣

The food you make looks good, but for all that work it's just so much easier to buy a pack or 2 of LRS. Unless you have some big predators I can't imagine what you save being that much + LRS seafood is likely fresher and higher quality then many grocery stores depending on how close to the ocean you live and they add probiotics. There was a time I would make my own fish food but the store bought frozen fish food has improved so much I can't compete on quality.

Yea, LRS is a great quality food for sure. I'm in Southern California, so I can get super fresh ingredients locally for cheap. Making a batch of this food takes less time than watching this video really. I like to feed a wide variety of foods, so my own frozen mix is a great addition to the commercially available foods I also feed.

Interesting. I haven't heard of drying homemade food. Thanks!

Wouldn't it be better to use already frozen ingredients? That way you would avoid the mushy consistency and pour it directly into cube trays.

Yea, you could. I only buy the fresh stuff because it's available locally, and because it's cheaper than the frozen bagged seafood. Also, sometimes frozen seafoods are sprayed with chemicals to help preserve them - not always, but sometimes.

I was wondering, does your skimmer overflow after feeding this food? I made a small badge with shrimps, squid, clams and drops of ken garlic. After the first feeding my skimmer went nuts.

No, it didn't react really any different than it did with other frozen commercial foods.
