Bit of a gun nut myself and don't want to take away from this man's really nice build/craftsmanship, but he really didn't "work anything out." The operating principals of this shotgun are practicaly the same as most guns, except that instead of a trigger assembly with a hammer, the shell is driven backwards onto a ridged firing pin. It isn't a new invention, just a homemade shotgun.

Already been done. That Russian game series, can’t remember the name now.

When you told me it had a detachable magazine, I was worried that it was going to be an autoloader and I’m like oh boy… please don’t let that thing accidentally go full auto. AFT would be salivating at the thought of that happening.

Whilst I absolutely agree, dudes missing fingers have built functioning replicas of almost every firearm around in the khyber region for like 150 years now. Again, taking nothing away from this guy's achievement. But dudes from GWOT have brought back functioning replicas of AK's and 1911's built in the khyber entirely by hand.

Right. I love this design functions better than the "Terminator" which was trying to achieve the same thing only fell a tiny bit short on the reliability.

​@@Raphael-pt7rxthe mags use a pretty tough spring to move ammo upwards. I assume, that the pin directly blocks the ammo on its way up making it unable to be loaded into the chamber.

@@Raphael-pt7rx Making a magazine reliable is a pita, the two primary reasons are 1. Because the feed lips need to be tuned to the spring tension, too tight and the bolt carrier cant pick up a round, too loose and the bullets get yeeted out of the magazine. 2. The feed lips need to be angled properly to have the round seat in the chamber correctly. Since it's hand pump actuated the actual picking up of a round is a lot less finicky than relying on mechanical actuation, which can easily get a failure to feed if not properly manufactured. The grenade pin block means the shells can be under tension while also not having to deal with tuning the feed lips or even bothering with feed lips at all, the next round just rests against the previous round, the barrel picks it up, pushes the first round to the back, then the next round is resting against the barrel. First shot fires, gets kicked out near the ejection slot close to the chamber and when the barrel is cycled the next round bets pushed into the chamber and ready to be picked up by the barrel. I've actually brain stormed a design much like that, though I decided on a gravity fed magazine instead of a traditional spring loaded one, my magazine held the shells in with a flat V shaped strip of metal cut out of the magazine that gets lifted up when you slot it into the mag well so the bullets can just fall out into the chamber. A bit slower to actuate since gravity fed is obviously slower than spring fed but it'd do the job. But this is actually inspired, very well machined I say.

Utube is hopeless, there are blueprints for 1000s of guns on itube but they give you trouble over a work of art. I have renovated some guns including a webley mrk 6 but this is a whole different thing. I would love to handle your creation, that's when a full appreciation of the time and effort is realised. It's pretty damn close to a pump already but breech loading is dealing with dangerous pressure on questionably made parts, theres a reason they all make slamfires. semi auto diy is definitely a bridge too far. Most legit mfgs can't get a semi 12g running worth a damn 😂
