CBC Benny Goodman 4m clip 1971 "In The Mood" - Jack Duffy - Guido Basso Orchestra - I transferred the 30 minute episode in 2009 for the common-law partner of one of the band members. It had been archived by the CBC 1st to 16mm film, then to Umatic Videotape, from which I did the transfer to DV. For demo purposes to future customers I recently re-did it to HD format digital video. Surprisingly the show only lasted 1 short season, but, what bothers me about the show was it only featured Americans and American music. en.wikipedia.o...

Kristin, just found your comment from 11 months ago, sorry, but, thanks for commenting. My older brother told me he and his gang used to go to some of the places Quido and his band used to play and enjoyed his performances very much.

One of the best series ever on Canadian TV...for jazz...and it seems to be very hard to get access to...doesnt seem to be on CBC archives online...do you know of any way I can re-see these great shows...I attended the Gene Krupa one...got a chance to meet gene...unforgettable

I talked to Guido Basso on the phone several years ago, he said he had some more episodes on video tapes. He lives in Ottawa area.

My dad worked for CBC and got us in to see Count Basie on this show . It was a good show but I don't think it lasted long.

@@HomeMoviesdotCa That's true but the birth of jazz was in America. Maybe if it kept going they would of got some Canadians on board. I think Guy Lombardo was on the show and he was from London Ontario.
