I got a facebook message from a lady asking if I could help her in laws out. She told me that their lawn in in really bad shape and her father in law is too sick to be able to clean it up on her own. So, I got my friend ‪@TopNotchLawns‬ and we completely transformed his yard.

My dad was in a nursing home for a couple of months and the neighbors chipped in and mowed his lawn and cut the bushes. I was really happy they did (I lived in another county) and he got angry they did. 🙄 I thanked them, but they didn't do it again. You can see in this video the next door neighbor did mow the strip near them. Don't see that very often, although I've wondered why when it's not much more than their own to do. People have their reasons I guess. Love these videos!

I am totally perplexed as to why so many people just toss their empty beverage cans in the yard instead of a trash can or bag?! Why?! It makes no sense and shows laziness and a disregard for oneself. Sad. I love the collaboration with Spencer and Brian. More in the future!

Homeowner seems to make it to the fridge for Budweiser Ice easily enough...and is able to throw the cans in the yard as well. There's a difference between a neglected lawn and trash all over the place. The latter speaks to a lifestyle, and not a good one.

@@lavenderblue4815 You should watch "Hoarders" on A&E. You will begin to recognize the patterns. No "injury" causes one to throw garbage in the yard - that's a lifestyle choice. Often because the person does not care to live clean, or has given up. Both sad, but completely avoidable. Go back in a year. The yard will look exactly the same. Most of the people he helps are merely lazy.

@@mauicountygis5450 a lot of it is systemic though. yes, he could change is actions, but both his health and poverty make it very hard to escape the cycle of being “lazy” in your words. this is probably typical behavior in his area, and probably was how he was raised. there’s a lot that goes into having a house like this. hopefully the kindness of Spencer and Brian taught him a valuable lesson, and he’ll work to break that cycle

Some people in need of help are like that. They don't want family to help, but they will accept a stranger's help. As my Grandpa got older I would make an effort to help when I could but he would get upset and tell me no, no, no. One time I was at his house and I started to shovel snow and he told me not to that he had a guy come to do that. I was under the assumption he was paying the guy. The guy showed up to plow the driveway and gave me additude for not helping my grandpa which took me back and really upset me. I found out that this guy only volunteered to do it for my grandpa as a favor and he wasn't getting paid. As they say no good deed goes unpunished.

Very nice collaboration with Brian on this guy's lawncare maintenance Spenser. When we see such an overgrown state of affairs, one's instinct is to dive right in and start mowing...but we are too far removed. So it's very satisfying to mow and clean vicariously with your videos. Giving back to the community by providing free lawncare to the disabled is a dual blessing.

What a change! Moving all of the junk into one place really helped. Mowing and trimming always makes a nice looking place. What I wonder...If a daughter in law/son are able to call you out to help, why couldn't they do something to help this poor man? I just don't understand people like that. I'm elderly now and live in AZ. There isn't a lot I can do, but I'm always willing to try to help out. At least I keep up with my own place! Bless you, Spencer. for all you do. (Please start wearing masks, especially with all of that dust.)

@@kathywiseley4382 Spenser said the DiL sent him pictures… maybe they don’t live there, but they visited and she had time to take pictures so why not pick up all the aluminum cans and take them to the recycling center, or move junk out of the way so the yard can be mowed? Spenser also the FiL is ill and can barely move, and since she’d sent pictures, I’m assuming that they are visiting him while he’s dealing with health issues. Is it possible to do a little bit at a time?

So much garbage & other things the Elderly Man wants to keep..which is mostly junk! So much stuff to move & hide behind the shed was a good idea & lots more work! The dried grass & weeds was everywhere & the Transformation was Great...looks Totally Different...You 2 did a Marvelous Job!! I have seen other videos it standing mowers & there Not as good as HustleTurf Mowers!! I bet Homeowner & In-Laws are Happy over this Transformation, nice & clean now!! Wow, your not in Kansas only 37F, must be Florida haha, & Me not here in Illinois only 30 F degrees with a dusting of snow from last night? Both of you Have a Wonderful Weekend!! I surprised that these poor people were no infested with sand fleas. It happens with all that dry dead weed and grass. It makes me sad that no family or friends or neighbors that could not or would not help these people. So sad. I'm glad you and your friend helped them out. Good job.

This clean up resonated with me. I live 5 hours from where I grew up. Things deteriorated over time. My parents didnt want help, and at the end I brought all my equipment to clean up because they wouldn't tell me where the dust pan was! Poor health slows people down. Mr. and Mrs. Clean lived in filth. Siblings were not concerned. Thank you for the Elder Care you provided by cleaning up his yard. I'm sure it took a load of stress off of him.

It’s great you both could help and make a difference. I’m sure the neighbors are happy also. I understand the homeowner is elderly with health issues so great you helped them. But with all that mess I’m sure he wasn’t the only one that created it. Why couldn’t the relatives that called help some. It doesn’t cost them anything to pick up the trash. Wonder how long before it’s looking like that again.

One thing that I know so many of us know but after really seeing it, it is like a extra eye opener, well at least for me I guess is what I am saying..but if you don't keep up with yard work one thing that is guaranteed is that Mother Nature and or the out side, sure will reclaim what is hers quicker then ya know...great job to the both of you!!! Landscaping is like professional movers...it makes ya use muscles that most people don't even know that they had. It is not easy work at all but such a rewarding feeling when all is said and done..God Speed and God Bless ya sir!!!!
