The Princess Bride is my favorite movie! The book has been on my wish list for a while. And I just got The Hiding Place a few days ago. Can’t wait to read both! Thanks for sharing your recommendations 😊

For The Princess Bride you can buy it used on Thriftbooks with a more classic cover and the original cover.

Currently reading Phantom of the Opera. The last book I read was Wuthering Heights and I completely agree with your review of it. I won’t recommend it to anyone. I have Lord of the Flies on my shelf to read and Princess Bride is on my wishlist! I read The Hiding Place as a Teen and can’t wait to read it again when I introduce it to my kids!

Hiding Place is so much better than Anne Frank. Yes, Anne is great for what it is, but Corrie Ten Boom is a great example of what we want out kids to grow into.

Haha!! Wuthering Heights! I hated it in high school, but I just bought it (used) so I could reread it to see if I would like it now. We'll, maybe it will still be bad😆

I Read Lord of the Flies in High School! Still one of my favorite books!! Sooo good!! Will for sure be making my kids read it when they are older 😂

I was today years old when I realized the princess bride was a book!! I love the movie, I'm going to have to buy the book. Would you recommend it for older kids? I laughed when you said you wanted to be librarian because same, I'm obsessed with books. My husband laughed when we were younger and I told him that was my dream job. Also a used book store would be awesome. Have you read Agatha Christie books? She's one of my favorite authors. I'm also interested in that prayer book, It's so awesome that your church does that.

Wuthering Heights has been on my to read list, because it is classic. From your review and reading the comments it reminds me of when I read F. Scott Fitzgerald book the Great Gatsby. Was looking very much forward to reading it, especially with the gorgeous hard copy that I had! It was not at all what I thought it was. Great glimpse into the Era, but super depressing story. I told my teacher it seemed to be written with bitterness and she said good catch, read his biography. The book upset me so that I gave it away and still wonder why it is so highly praised.

I used to teach PS high school English and loved teaching Lord of the Flies. My favorite assignment I ever created was having the kids do a mock trial afterwards where they put humanity on trial. Are we naturally that evil if removed from society? They could create different historical figures and have someone portray them in the trial. Awesome way to bring history and literature together!

I was required to read both The Lord of the Flies and Wuthering Heights in school and hated both with a passion! I can recognize a talented author, but books like these kind of ruined my innocence. I have always loved The Hiding Place, and have read it numerous times. I also read her book, Tramp for the Lord. Apparently, she authored many others. Right now I’m reading Confessions of a Medical Heretic by Robert S. Mendelsohn, M.D.- a real eye opener, although a bit out of date. I honestly can’t remember if I read The Princess Bride- I’ve seen the movie a zillion times. A good reminder of something to add to my list.

As I was watching this, I was thinking to myself, I'm going to leave a comment that she should include the hiding place and then you did. :) I COMPLETLEY agree with you that this book was so much more impactful to me than the Anne Frank books. There's another book that you should look into about racial dynamics and faith it's called under the tullip tree

We just got the Hiding Place for my older boys to read with the Generations literature pack this year. Now I'm thinking I'll have to read it too! I absolutely adore the Princes Bride movie but have never read the book. I'm buying it right now :) Have you read any books that describe theology better? You've mentioned reformed a few times on your channel and I'm not quite sure what that is.

I read Lord of the Flies in high school and I remember absolutely loving it! My oldest is 7, is he too young for it? I don't remember too much about it to be honest besides the fact that I loved it lol!

Great review! I loved The Hiding Place. I’m putting that prayer book on my “to read” list. Anything from banner of truth is solid. I also like Westminster bookstore online for biblically solid stuff.

I’m another fellow kdrama obsessed fan and just combed through the comments to find this! 😂 I haven’t seen that one yet so it’s now on my list to watch. And I wasn’t a big fan of Wuthering Heights either. It’s a rough read for sure.

Wuthering heights is my absolute favorite book..I bought it when I was in my 20s for whatever reason and I just love it. What's wrong with me? Hahaha

I’m with you. While Wuthering Heights is a beautiful gothic novel, the story is just awful. I much prefer Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre. Such an incredible story! And characters you actually grow to love. I have heard that the third Bronte sister, Anne, is underrated and really the most talented of the sisters, I haven’t had a chance to read her books yet.

Hiding place is my fave. I've actually read alot of Corrie's books. She's great. Never was a fan of wuthering heights, also thought it was seriously dysfunctional. I liked the Princess Bride movie, I actually disliked the book. Lol. Lord of the flies was just creepy, for me, and from a spiritual side , reminded me of what the time may look like when society breaks down and lawlessness is running rampant. Sorry that may be to deep for the comments section. Lol

I was reading born to run, but set that one aside for a bit... other than that, nothing has really jumped out to me lately. I think I might read the princess bride though. The movie was great and I'm going to pick up the count of monte cristo
