Van life in Poland sees us heading to Bialowieza Forest. After a special guided tour of Poland’s unique primeval forest, we feel a bit unsettled as homesickness strikes. We decide last minute to drive our van all the way into Poland's capital, Warsaw. Our van gets hit by a huge storm and show you what a rainy night in the van looks like.

Who are we? 💁🏼‍♀️
We're Tom and Iz, a young couple from Cornwall, the UK, who live and travel full time in our van La Bamba. We love nature and try to spend as much time as possible wild swimming, hiking and being outdoors! 10 years ago we had a whirlwind summer romance, then went our separate ways to travel and go to university and fast forward 4 years later, we found ourselves back in the same place at the same time as each other and the rest is history.
Why Van Life? 🚐
We bought the van back in 2019 whilst Iz was training to be a secondary science teacher. "Van Life" isn't something I had followed online during my teacher training, but within days of my brothers showing me KZfaq videos of people living in vans, I became obsessed. I was really unhappy in my training and very stressed.
"Van Life" was an escapism for me and it represented freedom. I had some money saved up and my brothers showed me our van "La Bamba" on gumtree. I forced myself to sleep on it and the next day I asked my dad if he would come with me to Bournemouth to view it. Meanwhile Tom is in Estonia on a stag do for his best friend. We haven't spoken about getting a van before and I know nothing about what makes a van good and no idea on van conversions! But I buy it! I phone Tom to say we now have a van - whoops! We were all so excited. With the help of my brothers and the space on my mum's drive (and lots of KZfaq videos) and alongside full time work and uni, we convert her to live in! 🛠
Two years later and Iz finds work she can do remotely from the van and Tom starts our KZfaq channel. 📸
Since then we haven't looked back and when the pandemic allowed us to, we travelled to Spain, Portugal, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and most recently we have completed a road trip from Cornwall to Estonia (via Norway). 🎥

Our message on our channel is to inspire others to do what they love as life is too short! We love living simply, freely with less stuff but more time! ✨

Hey Happy Sunday! 🌼 I hope you are having a lovely weekend. I feel really grateful to be living this lifestyle but in this episode I felt a little off and homesick. For me, the hardest part of living on the move is not having a base to see friends and family, and then the friends you do make on the road can be brief encounters. Have you ever felt like this when travelling? The first 1,000 people to use the link will get a 1 month free trial of Skillshare: skl.sh/lostintransit07221 Thanks so much for watching✨ If you enjoyed this one please give it a thumbs up 👍 😁 See you again on Tuesday! Great video guys, really loved the informative forest talk, move over Attenborough! Oh and we heard the woodpecker, sounded like the cackle of a green woodpecker right!? I heard one the other day near a fjord and followed the sound and stumbled on 4 of them but didn't have my camera, next time though I will be dual-weilding cameras... Hope you are both ok, easy to get a little bit homesick sometimes right! for those times we have a stockpile of Bisto and/or smart price sage and onion mix 😅. Chris :)

Świetny vlog, widzę dużo entuzjazmu i energii u przyjaciółki.

So interesting to hear all the information from Renata about the forest. I was especially intrigued by the tree that froze and thawed and caused a wound in the trunk. I’m sure I’ve seen that before, probably in Scotland , but never knew what it was.

No wild Bison? In Bialowiesza you should have seen loads! Anyway..theres a great vegan Israeli cuisine inspired restaurant in Warsaw. Think its called Tel Aviv. Check it out, its in the centre on Poznanska street, I think. . Youll enjoy walking around Warsaw, its Manhattanesque in spots.

Forest - Amazing, Amazing, Amazing (id love to be Renata) , loved the enthusiasm from you both, looks like your definitely harnessing your teaching and documentary skills :-) The Father - Great, Great Great film. Not sure if this would be up both of your streets but Archive 81 (Netflix series) is brilliant and definitely worth a watch. Being home sick is natural I guess, back in the day the only way to communicate was either by letter or phone, at least today there are other means to see, speak and be connected to those we miss - its just a thing we experience sometimes. The memories and experiences you are both sharing together (in my mind) outweigh the occasional feelings of being home sick. Enjoy and savour every moment.

Most of the times in Europe, Thunderstorms will have a eastward propagation, meaning they come from the west and go to the east. As it was a hot day, Thunderstorms would have probably be formed in eastern Germany or western Poland and propagated eastward towards you as you were driving from the east into the center of Poland. nothing crazy about it :)

Hi folks, that's me all up to date now, just been amazing these last few vlogs, you are deffs now up there in regards to how you present and edit these vlogs, there's no improvement left to do, they look well, sound well, how you show us on the map where you are going, then the white font on the bottom left hand of screen telling us the names of the places you are in, all just spot on. Excellent. Listen Iz, you are both doing some amount of travelling, like Ireland already seems so long ago, so you are bound to get days where you miss home and family, totally normal, hope you're feeling better now. 👍

1. a quirky / cringe narration potatoes were two euros for five kilos. she could not - would not - resist it. she cooked and ate them all ahead of rot. she cooked them for him and she. she cooks. he edits. he drives. she drives a little. they share the doing of the other things. all facets are oddly pleasant to watch. who would have thought watching water tanks getting filled, could be this much fun? the potatoes were bought in their final german shop. big haul. flensburg. how do we know? they told. we don't complain: castle complex, on sandy island; polish forest, unhampered; contagious, unprompted laughter; tomato, on toast; dunks, in scenic water. kept them in food and drink for a forthnight, did the haul. came to about a hundred euros. frugal living, and vegan cooking, are takeaways from their portraits of their days. they did a haul in northernest sweden. dipped down solely for the haul. nearest shop was there. were running out and so forth. entered sweden, from finland, having just entered, finland, from norway, soon to re-enter, finland, from sweden; envision norway, and finland, symmetric parts, of clipped, only slightly curved hair, on top of head of long stalky body, head and body being sweden. enduringly in finland they drove eastward. then straight southward. through the nation. days of parking (quiet) and driving (substantial). not crazy amounts. not unsafe amounts. 2. you are making (have long been making) art. each trip is a book. you are writing a travel book of europe. as with all good travel books, yours is about more than travel. i hope you pause / stop / upload three in a row just eating beans (on toast), when/if you feel you need to do so to keep sane. yours is a peculiar case: we feel we are "right there". oddly and pleasantly, and undeniably and deep, we are moved by the unguarded awestruckness of two supposedly perfect strangers, amidst the clouds and snow of norway. I've revised this post. i've tried to weed out excessive weirdness, and the overly private feel. the last thing i'd want is to make you feel unease. i hope your homesicknesses passes. i think you're brave; tough; generous; kind; candid; and very good filmmakers. much love.
