Oh, Priscilla! I'm sure you put most of us to shame! I try to be organized, but soon things are messy again. It keeps me on my toes. You are fortunate to have the space to STAY organized. That helps. You are truly a virtuous woman! I don't know how you manage to get everything done that you do! You are absolutely amazing ❣️❣️❣️

I watch videos of peoples food storage areas and am always taken back to my childhood days when my mother canned everything she could get her hands on. The garden in the summer and the canned food in the winter was our only source of food. We didn’t have a deep freezer until I was an older teenager so everything was canned. I remember my mother and other ladies talking about their canning “harvest” with such pride. Can you believe that one of my most vivid memories was of the summer my mom canned over 1,000 jars of food. This didn’t include any type of meat. Back then, the canning of meat had not been perfected. Anyway, I just had to share the “1,000” jar summer story. We worked from daylight to dark preserving the bounty that my father harvested for his family. Hard times were good times and such precious memories. Your canned food room looks so pretty.

What a beautiful food storage areas. I am working on getting mine set up this year I started canning and have enjoyed learning how to do it. The work is so rewarding. Tonight I made apple crisp with canned apple and it was so quick and easy. I also make a apple sauce cake that my family loves and will often make it into cupcakes so we can just grab them when we are in a hurry and it is something sweet that I make with fresh ground wheat berries so that it is healthy also. Having food canned and stored on the shelves is such a time saver and makes life so much simpler. I have also canned stews and soups for real quick meals. Thank you for bringing us into your home and sharing this with us

How comforting and peaceful, working in the garden in spring and harvesting as it comes ripe. The work it takes to do it all to me is very peaceful, busy and hard work but so worth it and so fulfilling having the peace of mind that you can feed your family if and when times get difficult as well. What a blessing. Loving how you all work in the garden to plant and harvest and prepare things together. The children will carry that on in their lives more likely than not and what a wonderful thing to hand down to your children to be self sustaining and hard workers. Beautiful tour! Thank you for sharing your life and productivity to us all...........very inspiring. God bless you all!

I enjoy canning and making jellies. I have a freezer just for some things from my garden,in prep sizes. I put the amount needed in gallon ziplock.bags and stake them flat in freezer. I have the amount of berries I need to make the jellies. I just drop them on floor to break them up and put them in Dutch oven I use to make jelly in and let them thaw. That way I'm not loosing any of berries.i cut up peppers in lay them on cookie sheet and freeze them. I them put all the sliced peppers in same color in freezer ziplock bags. I can or freeze from my garden and I dehydrate the herbs from my herb garden. Have you ever did a cook book?

I remember when I was a child(sixty plus years ago) my grandmother had a pantry full of preserves all beautifully lined up on shelves. There was enough to get through the year. In autumn (fall) there was mush time spent making jam and preserves. My mum used to do it too. Cooking was on a wood stove, no electricity. That is how it was, very different today. Your video in a way reminds me of those self sufficient days.(Australia).

Not only wisdom and wise, to have food in your pantry: But is RESPONSIBILITY also, especially when you have such a big family. And you don’t need to have a big family to have your pantry with goods you grown, made, gathered over time, it is being responsible over your own life how to feed yourself, instead of waiting for someone else to feed you which will fail you at times, aka the gov with their imported toxic goods. Well done! And a big hug to your family from Bucharest.

I love how you don't go overboard with it. (like those preppers) For a family of 7 with a hard working man and 2 boys in their teenage years who also are working this is enough for the winter (and maybe a little more) until the next garden season starts. I love it. Do you share/trade the excess with family or the community?

I know what you mean. Those crazy preppers. It really sucks that I have a well(unlimited water), off grid power, 12 months of(25 year shelf life) food, no mortgage, and 10 years of property taxes in high yield rotating CDs distributed between several banks and Credit Unions. I must be insane.

Hooray for self reliance. A wise and inspired lifestyle. Yes, we enjoyed seeing how you are set up. We are somewhat concerned about our jars being compromised by earthquakes. With the times we are in we feel no one is immune to devastating adversities. We have put some wooden braces up to help stabilize them but if it is bad enough we wonder if this is enough. We will all have to do our best and rely on the Lord. Thank you for your wonderful videos. We love your sweet family. the Siffords
