It's crazy that we live in a reality where Homestuck is now a part of Smash. Smash Bros IS a videogame museum after all, so now Toby's Earthbound romhack, Homestuck, and Undertale are now apart of the archives of the biggest videogame museum/fighting games out there.

I love how they added Vriska’s theme. It’s just so good.

One of the things I love the most about this song is that you can genuinely tell how it was constructed, just a simple layering of Tensei's guitar over Toby's original song. You can even hear, after the initial guitar riff of the song fades out, the smallest remnant of the original riff from the Earthbound hack. Just so goddamn cool. And the Spider's Claw riff to top it all off. GodDAMN.

What does a manifestation of a scientist's rage, an alien goth girl, a skeleton wearing a hoodie, and Adrian Brody have in common? Honestly the question itself is a lot funnier than the actual answer.

Both Aradia and Sans are strongly linked to the idea of temporal inevitability and, at their worst, have defeatist attitudes about it. (spoilers below) . . Aradia is canonically the “Maid of Time,” and for most of Hivebent and Alterniabound knows exactly what is going to happen in the alpha timeline, due to being able to hear the voices of the dead. Because of this, she grows bitter and resentful about her inability to meaningfully change things for the better. Sans studies quantum physics and is aware of Frisk’s ability to reset the timeline. Like Aradia, he also grows depressed about it, being unable to “give it his all” until the last fight - you can check the dialogue, it’s all there.

This. This right here. This is what pulled me in. This is what got me trapped in this forsaken fandom. And I’m grateful for it every day.

this actually first appeared in one of toby's earthbound rom hacks, then he re-used it here, and finally used it in undertale, so this song has more of a backstory than joey claire

I started reading Homestuck earlier this year after a friend pepped my curiosity on it. I must say it’s really good. I had heard of Megalovania from the Undertale fandom years prior, and knew that Megalovania was in Homestuck after some digging around and searches on KZfaq. I must say I like this version as much as Undertale’s version.

I'm pretty sure the original wasn't removed because of copyright but because the original uploaded got upset at it being their most viewed video. No other homestuck songs have been taken down (except for the bill bolin ones) and they most likely never will.

Not enough credit is given to Tensei for adding some killer guitar soloing on top of Toby's original tune. That's what makes this song unique compared to the Earthbound hack and Undertale versions. (Although, granted, the leitmotifs he plays are from a couple other Toby Fox compositions)
