Charlie Batch was a special backup! Not the most electrifying player but a man who did his role as well as anyone! Hopefully we can have similar consistency from our future backups.

Batch was the perfect example of a player who knew his limitations. After some decent years as a starter in Detroit, he ends up in Pittsburgh as a backup where he flourished. It helped it was his hometown, but the man is living out a dream as an employee of the franchise he loved all his life.

Charlie Batch is one of those guys that if you don't like him, it's your fault. Also, never forget how often Big Play Willie Gay came up with a key play, he was a really good player.

Name a single player on this squad who you wouldn’t immediately start next season. Exactly

The years where the Steelers had Batch at backup QB created SO much less stress. No offense to Landry Jones, Mason Rudolph and Duck Hodges, but when Batch was backing up Big Ben, you knew we still had a serious pro behind center with multiple years of QB1 experience at the NFL level. Hopefully, Pickett with Trubisky backing him up re-creates the same scenario the next few years.

You gotta love Charlie Batch. He was such a team player and great person. He is still in the Pittsburgh area doing good things for poor kids. The world needs more Charlie Batch's. Heck of a game too.

When are announcers gonna realize that Pittsburgh fans don't travel to these games from Pittsburgh, but that it's Steeler Nation?

To me Charlie Batch was an above-average starting quarterback in his prime and when he came to Pittsburgh I do believe (in my opinion) was in the top five backup quarterbacks in the league . I love Charlie and his personality , he's right at home in Pittsburgh .

They don't make them like Batch. I watched him with the Lions. I was rooting for him. Then he came to us. What a great backup.

This man is as pure as they come, he's a Steeler legend in my eyes. My favorite Batch game was in 2012 when he came off a bad game against Cleveland and the next week went into Baltimore and led us to victory against the ravens, that game was his super bowl... and that game is in my top 10 Steeler bank without a doubt.

That is an all-time great game, and it features an all-time great moment that needs to be mentioned - Charlie and Ben hugging after victory was secured. I think at least one of them was crying. The potential of this game being Charlie's last ever was brought up, and it would have been a shame for him to have gone out on a bad note. Everyone was really happy for him for getting to go out on a high note. All Steelers fans wanted him to go out on high note, if he was going to go out. And he did! Against our most bitter and deadly rival! Just like Ben did in his last season, 9 years later!

I just wanna say that I found your channel just a few days ago and I absolutely love it. So many games that I forgot about, or just can’t seem to find highlights for. Love your content. Keep it up man. I try to remember to like all your videos. I especially love the highlight vids from games where I was younger and remember way less

During this 3 game win streak to start 3-0, the Steelers defense only allowed 2 offensive TDs both coming in garbage time late in the 4th qtr.

How did I miss this one? Another great video & great editing, Itz. Keep ‘em coming. It’s too hot here to do anything but stay in the AC. Thanks for yet another walk down memory lane. He’s two announcers did a spectacular job with play-by-play coverage.

1:05 Interesting story about the relationship between Mike Tomlin and Raheem Morris. I’d forgotten (until I looked it up) that Morris already had a Super Bowl ring of his own with the Bucs as an assistant.

He was the worst. I cringed everytime he had the ball. He always ran with the ball way outside his body. Also he always tried to cut runs to the outside 95% of the time. I called him Tippy Toes FumbleHall
