Farewell address at the end-of-year banquet.
I was a member of Bakuhatsu Taiko Dan (‪@bakuhatsuofficial‬) from 2011-2022 as both and undergraduate and graduate student at UC Davis, a long time for a collegiate taiko player. This farewell address is an oral history and a taiko player's reflection on the music and community built by taiko players at UC Davis. As a moment in time, it acknowledges the hardship of the pandemic and highlights the resilience of community-based organizations.
